Location: 26 km/16 Miles SW of Manhattan, 3 km/2 Miles S of Newark, NJ.
Airport Overview:
3 large Terminals: A, B & C connected by a free AirTRain.

General: To Manhattan $60-70/30-60 mins. To the New York Cruise Ship Passenger Terminal ~$50+tolls.
Flat Rate Fares: To the city of Newark $15-18, to any other part of the airport $13-15, to Downtown & Midtown Manhattan $60-70, to East Side Manhattan add $5, to JFK airport $100, to La Guardia Airport $85 + tolls.
Other destinations: Atlantic City $203, Eduison $56, Hackensack $59, Jersey City $46, Montclair $51, Morristown $57, New Brunswick $59, Paramus $69, Princeton $95, Secaucus $46, Short Hills $46 & Woodbridge $52.
Extras: During rush hour (Mon-Fri 0600-0900 & 1600-1900 and weekends 1200-2000) there is a $5 surcharge for all points in New York State except Staten Island. Each bag over 60cm/24 inches is $.

By Bus:
Newark Liberty: Airport Express: Runs buses from Newark airport to Penn Station, Port Authority Bus Terminal & Grand Central Station in Manhattan. Buses run to Midtown every 15-30 mins & to Lower Manhattan (Chinatown & Wall St) every 30-40 mins. Timings: Buses run every 15 mins 0645-2315, every 30 mins outside these times.
Cost: $15 one way or $25 round trip. Children under 12 free, seniors half price. Buses depart from the level below arrivals (ground transportation level of terminals A, B & C) stop 2 or 3. Travel Time: Takes 30-40 mins. There is a desk in arrivals where tickets can be bought. Contact: Tel 1 877 894 9155.
Transbridge: Runs a bus service to various locations, including Allentown/Easton NJ, Bethlehem PA, Quakertown PA, Dublin PA, Doylestown PA, Frenchtown NJ & Branchburg NJ from the ground transportation level, stop 1. $12.90-14. Contact: Tel (800) 962 9135 or (610) 868 6001.

By NJ Transit Bus:
General: These buses stop on the level below arrivals (ground transportation level of terminals A, B & C) stops 7 & 8.
NJ Transit Bus 37: Runs  services to Ivy Hill, Maplewood & Irvington. Timings & Route: For details see here.
NJ Transit Bus 40 to Kearny, Elizabeth & Newark: Runs  services to Ivy Hill, Maplewood & Irvington. Route: North Arlington Loop - Kearny - Harrison - Newark Penn Station - Newark (Broad St/Branford Place) - Newark (Sheraton Hotel) - Newark (Northern State Prison) - Newark Airport (North Area, outer roadway) - Newark (Doremus Ave/Port St) - Newark (Export St/Calcutta St) - Elizabeth IKEA - Elizabeth (Jersey Gardens). Timings: Buses run Mon-Fri every 30-60 mins 0533-2348. Saturdays every ~60 mins 0542-2345. Sundays every 60 mins 0750-1901. For full details see here. NJ Transit Bus 62 to Newark, Woodbridge & Perth Amboy: Runs regular services to Penn Station in Newark in one direction and Woodbridge Mall in the other. Route: Perth Amboy - Woodbridge - Carteret - Rahway - Linden - Elizabeth - IKEA - Newark Airport (Earhart Dr at Metroplex Rd) - Newark Airport (Terminal A) - Newark (Broad St/Market St) - Newark Penn Station.  Timings: Buses run between the airport and Newark 24 hrs a day every 20-40 mins. State Shuttle: Runs a door to door service from Newark Airport to points all over New Jersey 24hrs. Contact: Tel 1-800 427 3207.
Olympic Airport Shuttle: Run regular scheduled services roughly every hour (0630-0200) to and from Keyport, NJ ($16/55 mins), Lincroft ($24/1:10), Wall ($27/1:20) and Toms River ($30/1:50). Reservations ARE required. At the airport follow signs to the Ground Transportation Counter. Contact: Tel 1-800 822 9797 or 732 938 4300
Airlink Shuttle: Routes: Runs a direct door-to-door service to homes and hotels in Manhattan (anywhere from Battery Park to 125th St). Cost: To Manhattan $17-19 one-way, from Manhatan $19, $33 round trip. Contact: Tel 1 877 599 8200. There are free courtesy phones in each terminal at the Ground Transportation info desks. Tel 24 hrs in advance for reservations going to the airport.

By Train:
Newark Intl Airport Station: Newark Intl Airport Station is a railway station near the airport, and connected to all 3 terminals by the AirTrain (below). Trains run from Newark Intl Airport Station to points all over New Jersey, Manhattan & beyond. Change Trains at Newark Penn Station or New York Penn Station for connections to many other places.
AirTrain service: A free monorail service connects Newark Intl Airport Station and all 3 terminals. Route: Newark Intl Airport Station - AirTrain Station P4 (For Car Parking & Hotel Shuttles) - Terminal C - Terminal B - Terminal A - AirTrain Station P3 (For Car Parking & some rental cars) - AirTrain Station P2 (For Budget & Dollar) - AirTrain Station P1 (For Car Parking). Timings: Trains run frequently. It can take up to 10 mins to reach Terminal A.
NJ Transit trains to Newark & New York City: There is no Train station at the terminals themselves. Rather, the train stops at the Newark International Airport station, and passengers then transfer to the free AirTrain to the Terminals. Most NJ TRANSIT trains on the Northeast Corridor and North Jersey Coast Line stop at the Newark Airport Station, which connects to the terminals via the free AirTrain. Route: Stations in New Jersey - Newark Intl Airport Station - Newark Penn Station - Secaucus Junction (not all trains) - New York Penn Station. Timings: Trains leave the Newark Airport Station Mon-Fri every 10-20 mins 0448-0050, 0131 & 0203. Weekends & Holidays at 0603, 0615, 0703, 0715, 0803, then every 15-20 mins until 2015, then every 20-40 mins until 0203. Trains leave New York Penn Station Mon-Fri every 10-25 mins 0417-0141. Weekends & Holidays at 0514, 0607, then every 15-25 mins until 0141. Cost: To New York Penn Station $12.50 one way. Buy tickets from the orange machines. Travel Time: To Manhattan 20-30 mins.
NJ Transit trains to New Jersey: There is no Train station at the terminals themselves. Rather, the train stops at the Newark International Airport station, and passengers then transfer to the free AirTrain to the Terminals. Most NJ TRANSIT trains on the Northeast Corridor and North Jersey Coast Line stop at the Newark Airport Station, which connects to the terminals via the free AirTrain. Route: Long Branch - Monmouth Park - Little Silver - Red Bank - Middletown - Hazlet - Aberdeen/Matawan - South Amboy - Perth Amboy - Woodbridge - Avenal - Rahway - Linden - Elizabeth - North Elizabeth - Newark Intl Airport Station - Newark Penn Station. Timings: Trains leave Newark Airport Station Mon-Fri at 0452, then every 20-60 mins 0556-0122. Weekends & Holidays every ~60 mins 0630-0027 & 0122. Travel Time: To Long Branch ~80 mins.
Amtrak Trains: Amtrak Trains operate to various destinations from the Airport station.
Other routes: NJ Transit also operate the Morris and Essex Lines serving Hackettstown, Dover, Morristown, Gladstone, Summit, The Oranges, Hoboken and intermediate stops.
Bus to Newark Rail Station: Then take the NJ Transit train every 30 mins 0447-0200 to New York's Penn Station (15mins/~$4) going North, or Stations to Trenton stopping at Elizabeth, Linden, Metropark, Metuchen, New Brunswick and Princeton Junction going South.

Airport to Airport:
To JFK: By Taxi: ~$70 + tolls. 75-90 mins.
Airporter (1-800 385 4000 or 609 587 6600). $27. Runs scheduled vans ~every 2 hrs 0700-1700 ex EWR & 0900-1900 ex JFK. Takes 90 mins.

Rental Cars:
On-Airport Rental Car Providers: AVIS, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, HERTZ, National & Thrifty. Rental Cars are accessed using the free AirTrain connecting the terminals to various areas of the airport. AirTrain Station P2 is for Budget & Dollar, AirTrain Station P2 is for AVIS, Hertz, National & Enterprise.

Car Parking: Short Term: Lots A, B & C: $3/30 mins, $6 for up to 1 hour & $3 for each hour or part thereafter up to a $30 max per 24-hour period. Economy: Lot P6: $10 for the first 24-hour period or part & $5 for each 12-hour period or part thereafter. A free Shuttle Bus Service is provided between P6 and Terminals A, B & C every 10-15 mins.
Baggage Storage:
Left Luggage facilities reported to be available on the arrival level in Terminal B.
Notes: BA,VS,LH,SN,NW in Terminal B. Hotel booking board in arrivals, but only for Airport Hotels. ATMs available in arrivals of all terminals. The closest public transport to the New York Cruise Passenger Ship Terminal is the A, C or E train at the 50th St. station (at 8th Ave). Cross town City buses are also accessible from 52nd St at 12th Ave.
