General: One enormous terminal divided into 8 concourses. They are all joined together and you can walk from one end to the other, but this would take some time.
Concourse A, B & C: Temporarily closed.

By Taxi:
General: Taxis wait outside the baggage reclaim area on the ground level.
Meter Rates: $2.50 for the first sixth of a mile then $0.40 for each extra sixth of a mile. Waiting time $0.40 per minute. However there are set fares to many areas (see below).

By Local Bus:
General: Nearly all buses now stop at the MIA Metrorail Station/Metrobus Terminal next to the rental car center. This is reached from the terminals by a short, free monorail ride (MIA Mover). There are also 2 bus stops at the airport terminals: One on the arrivals level near Concourse E (exit the building and cross one road to find the bus station), and the other on the arrivals level of Concourse J. These bus stops are only for Bus 133 the Tri-Rail Shuttle. For all other buses, take the MIA Mover to the Metrorail station.
The new easy-card is now in operation on Miami buses & Metrorail. Cards must be purchased for $2 from a machine or vendor, pre-loaded with value, and are then used to pay for trips. There is a machine at the Metrorail station above the bus station. When using the easy-card the costs are as follows: Adult trip $2.25, (reduced fare $.10), express buses (e.g. 150 Airport Flyer) $2.65. Transfers to other buses are free on the easy-card. It is still possible to pay cash to the driver, but all trips are $2.25 ($2.65 express), no transfers available. The following buses serve the airport:
Bus 150 Airport Flyer Express Bus to Miami Beach: A great Express Bus runs from the airport to Miami Beach (South Beach).
Route: Miami International Airport (Metrorail Station) - 41st St/Alton Rd, Miami Beach - 41st St/Sheridan Ave - all regular bus stops southbound on Indian Creek Drive until - Collins Ave/17th St - Washington Ave between Lincoln Rd & 16th St (outside Subway, but does not pick passengers up there) - Washington Ave/13th St - Washington Ave/9th St - Washington Ave/5th St - Washington Ave/South Pointe Drive - then returns to airport via Washington Ave etc etc. The pick-up point near Lincoln Rd for the trip to the airport is on Lincoln Rd, opposite James St (Outside CVS).
Timings: Buses leave the airport daily every ~30 mins 0600-2210 & 2310. Buses leave South Pointe Dr Mon-Fri every ~30 mins 0610-2255. Weekends every 30 mins 0540-2255. Buses leave Lincoln Rd Mon-Fri every ~30 mins 0621-2305. Weekends every 30 mins 0550-2305.
Travel Time: To South Beach (16th/Washington) ~32 mins. To South Pointe ~45 mins.
Cost: $2.35 per trip.
Steve's Tip: A great Bus, good value and well air-conditioned, but often with limited baggage storage at busy times.

By Long Distance Bus:
General: The bus stop at the airport is on the arrivals level at terminal E. Exit the building and cross one road to find the bus station. The following buses serve the airport:

Route: Fort Lauderdale Airport - Miami Intl Airport - Key Largo - Tavernier - Marathon - Big Pine - Key West.
Timings: Shuttles leave Miami Airport heading for the Keys daily at 1100, 1300, 1500, 1700, 1900 & 2100. To Key Largo $60 adult one way/1 hour 15, Marathon $60/2 hrs 30 & Key West $80/3 hrs 45.

For Miami Cruise Ship Terminal: Make your way to Downtown Miami, then use the SEAPORT CONNECTION: Route: Downtown Miami - Government Center Metrorail Station - NW 2 Avenue - NW/NE 6 Street - Seaport - Port Boulevard - Seaport Terminals - Royal Caribbean - NW/NE 5 Street - NW 1 Avenue.
Hotel Buses: Hotel Courtesy buses collect passengers from the departures level.

By Train:
Metrorail: There is now a MetroRail station close to the airport terminals. To get to the station, follow signs from the terminals to the upper level MIA Mover (a free monorail shuttle). It takes about 5 mins to get to the MIA metrorail station from the terminals.
Metrorail Orange Route: MIA Metrorail station - Earlington Heights - Allapattah - Santa Clara - Civic Center - Culmer - Overtown/Arena - Government Center (downtown Miami) - Brickell - Vizcaya - Coconut Grove - Douglas Rd - University - South Miami - Dadeland North - Dadeland South. Transfer at Earlington Heights for the Green line to Brownsville - Dr Martin Luther King Jr - Northside - Trirail - Hialeah - Okeechobee - Palmetto.
Timings: Trains run frequently 0500-midnight, Mon-Fri every 6-20 mins, and every 10-20 mins at weekends.

Train Route: Miami Airport - Hialeah Market - Metrorail/TriRail Transfer - Opa-locka (14 mins) - Golden Glades - Hollywood - Sheridan Street - Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport at Dania Beach (34 mins) - Fort Lauderdale (44 mins) - Cypress Creek - Pompano Beach (63 mins) - Deerfield Beach - Boca Raton - Delray Beach - Boynton Beach - Lake Worth - West Palm Beach (1 hour 41) - Mangonia Park.

Trains leave West Palm Beach Airport Station heading South towards Fort lauderdale & Miami Mon-Fri at 0406, 0446, 0526 then every 20-60 mins until 1851, 1946 & 2046. The People Mover train runs from the terminals to the Rental car center every few mins. Follow the purple signs from the upper level. The station is in the parking garage.

General: There are 2 main car parks at the airport. Dolphin Garage for Northside airlines (Concourses A-E) and Flamingo Garage for Southside airlines (Concourses E-J). Choose the correct car park depending on which airline you are using.
Short Term: In the Dolphin & Flamingo Garages: $4 for the 1st hour. $4 for the 2nd hour. $2 for the 3rd and 4th hours. $3 for the 5th hour. Daily max $15.
Short Term Premium: There is also short term parking outside concourse E at $2.50 per 30 mins with a daily max of $30.
Long Term: 1st hour $4, 2nd hour $4, 3rd hour $2, 4th hour $2, 5th hour $3. Daily max $15.

Airport to Airport: To Fort Lauderdale Intl and Palm Beach Intl: Shuttle Bus to TriRail station then TriRail to FLL (40mins) and PBI (100 mins/$9.95 round trip, although some travellers report up to 3 hours!). Taxi to FLL airport $65. To Opa Locka Airport: Bus 42 (NW135St).

General: There is no bus stop at the airport terminal itself. However, 10 mins walk to the south is NW 135th St. Cost: The new easy-card is now in operation on Miami buses & Metrorail. Cards must be pre-loaded, and are then used to pay for trips. When using the easy-card the costs are as follows: Adult trip $2.25, (reduced fare $1.10). It is still possible to pay cash to the driver, but all trips are $2.25, no transfers available. Several buses stop along this road:
E bus/Route 105 to Aventura Mall: Route: Miami Lakes Dr - NW 60th Ave - NW 138th St - NW 135th St (Just to the south of the airport terminal) - Opa Locka Tri Rail Station - NW 151st St - Opa Locka Blvd - 163rd St Mall - Sunny Isles - Collins Ave - Aventura Mall.
Timings: Buses run Mon-Fri every 30-45 mins 0555-2114. Weekends every ~45 mins 0914-1728. Takes a long time to reach Aventura Mall.

Bus #28 to Hialeah Station: Route: Hialeah Metrorail station - E 4th Ave - E 65th St - E 8th Ave/LeJeune Rd - NW 135th St (Just to the south of the airport terminal) - Biscayne Blvd - North Miami Beach - Florida Intl University (Biscayne Bay Campus).
Timings: Buses run Mon-Fri every 30-60 mins 0628-2050. Weekends ~hourly 0615-1916.

Bus #42 to Douglas Rd & Golden Glades: Route: Golden Glades Park & Ride - Opa-Locka Tri-Rail station - NW 135th St (Just to the south of the airport terminal) - E 8th Ave - Miami Amtrak Station - Miami Intl Airport Terminal - LeJeune Rd - Douglas Rd Metrorail Station. On Weekdays, the route continues to Coconut Grove Metrorail station.
Timings: Buses run Mon-Fri every 30-45 mins 0456-1840. Weekends every 30-45 mins 0610-1852.

By Train: The TriRail Station is a short drive to the East of the Airport, and can be reached by the E bus or 42 bus (see above). The Tri Rail runs south to Miami airport and north to Fort Lauderdale and Palm Beach County.
Airport to Airport: To Miami Intl: Bus 42.
Rental Cars: Enterprise (305) 769 1193, has a desk in Miami Executive Aviation. Cars are usually available, but it is best to call first to reserve one.
