Jakarta Soekarno - Hatta Intl (CGK):

Location: 18 Miles/30 km NW of the City.

Airport Overview: 3 terminals at present. Terminal 1 is divided into concourses A, B & C and is for domestic flights only (except Garuda). The terminal is all on one level. Terminal 2 is for international flights and all Garuda flights. It is on 2 levels, departures upstairs and arrivals downstairs. Terminal 3 is for Air Asia & Air Asia Indonesia. It is all on one level, with arrivals and departure areas side by side. There is also a separate Haj terminal. It is not terribly practical to walk between terminals, and free shuttle buses are provided.
Driving directions: The airport is a 60 minute drive from Jakarta city center (longer in the rush hour), off the Soediyatmo toll road (Bandara exit).

By Taxi:
General: Some Taxis (such as Silverbird) can be booked at counters in the arrivals areas and in the main halls of the terminals. Warning! Some cab meters are grossly inaccurate, and you are likely to be approached on arrival by private taxi drivers. Best to stick to a pre-paid official taxi.
Cost: To Jakarta city centre ~IDR 150 000 - 200 000/60+ mins. Road tolls (~IDR 7 000 - 20 000) may be added to the fare. To Jalan Jaksa & Jalan Thamrin IDR 120-160 000. Travel time is a minimum of 35 mins in light traffic, but can be much more. To Kampong Rambutan IDR 150 000 - 200 000, Lebak Bulus IDR 150 000 - 200 000, Gambir IDR 100 000 - 150 000, Tanjung Priok IDR 100 000 - 150 000.
Blue Bird Taxis: Bluebird Taxis are a safe and reliable company and have desks at the roadside outside the terminals.. Contact: Tel 021 7971245.
Silver Bird Executive Taxis: Silver Bird Taxis are a safe and reliable company. Contact: Tel 021 798 1234.
White Horse Premium Cab: White Horse Premium Cab have desks at the roadside outside the terminals, Tel 6385 5005. Cost: Flag Fall IDR 7500, then IDR 4400 per km..
Other Taxi Companies: Tiara Express Premium Taxi have desks at the roadside outside the terminals, Tel 021 2650 8000. Celebrity, Gading Taxi, Royal City, Borobudur, Express, Gamya, Ratax & Taxiku also operate taxis at the airport.
Hotel Taxis: Some hotels in Jakarta city offer their own taxis to the airport for around IDR 150 000.
By Damri Airport Bus:
General: Damri buses are air conditioned and safe and run regularly from Terminals 1 and 2. There are ticket desks at each bus stop on the roadside outside each terminal. Similar, but separate Damri buses also serve terminal 3 (outside departures). Contact: Damri 460 3708 or 550 1290.
To Gambir Station in Jakarta City: Route: Terminal 2D - Terminal 2E - Terminal 2F - Terminal 1A - Terminal 1B - Terminal 1C - Kemayoran - Rawamangun - Blok M/Kebayoran Baru - Gambir Bus & Train Station in Central Jakarta.
Timings: Buses run every 15-30 mins 0530-2400.
Travel Time: To Gambir 50-70 mins depending on traffic, which can be awful.
Cost: IDR 20 000.
To Bekasi: Route: Terminal 2D - Terminal 2E - Terminal 2F - Terminal 1A - Terminal 1B - Terminal 1C - Depok - Bekasi (Kayuringin).
Timings: Buses run every 15-30 mins 0530-2400.
Cost: IDR 30 000.

By Other Bus: Primajasa Bus to Bandung: Route: Airport - Bandung (Batununggal Indah). Timings: Buses run every 30 mins. Cost: IDR 75 000. Primajasa has a booking desk inside some of the terminals.

Rental Cars:
On-Airport Rental Car Providers: Several companies serve the airport. AVIS 021 550 6096, has a desk in Terminal 2 as you exit customs. Golden Bird, Silver Bird, Garuda Biru, Kopenasoeta, Indorent, Citra Trans Gemilang, Luts, Ratax, Trac & Bluebird 021 794 4444 also have desks.

Car Parking: Car parks are outside each terminal (1, 2 & 3). Cost: First 2 hours IDR 4000. Each extra hour IDR 1000.
Transfer between terminals: The free airport shuttle buses transfer passengers between the terminals 1, 2 & 3 every 5-10 mins 0510-2300. At Terminal 3, the shuttle bus runs from outside departures. Note: These buses have no dedicated storage area for baggage and can get very full. Taxi drivers may tell you that the free shuttle bus runs very infrequently, which uis not true. However, if travelling with heavy baggage, it may be a good idea to take a taxi between terminals.
Currency Services: There are Bureau de Change desks as you exit customs in the international terminal. Beware: Due to the very high exchange rate, it is very easy to make a mistake when handling local currency. Some of the money changers may use this to their advantage. To avoid this problem, it is probably safer to use an ATM/Cash machine. These are located at all terminals (1, 2 & 3).
Baggage Storage: Left luggage facilities are available. In Terminal 2, is is as you exit customs.
Airport Hotels: Quality Hotel Aspac, 559 0008, is at the Intl terminal. Hotel Bandara Jakarta, 619 1964, is a cheaper, more basic option. A transit hotel is available airside.

Location: 12 km/8 Miles SSE of the City center.
By Taxi: Many taxis in Indonesia operate on a pre-paid coupon system. Coupons can be bought in the terminal.
