General: Effectively one large terminal, but split into terminals 1 and 2 for the purposes of check-in and baggage reclaim. Walking between terminals is possible, and takes 5 mins.

Kielius Bus to Kiel: Route: Airport (Bus stop C) - Neumünster/Rendsburg (20 mins) - Kiel. Takes ~80 mins to Kiel. Timings: Buses leave the airport Mon-Sat: 0713, 0813, 0913, 1113, 1135, 1213 then hourly until 0013. On Sundays, there is NO service at 0713, 1213, 1813 or 2213. Cost: €33 one way. Traveliner Bus to Lubeck: Route: Airport (Bus stop C) - Hoisbüttel Station (30 mins) - Bargteheide (40 mins) - Bad Oldesloe (55 mins) - Lübeck ZOB 13 (80 mins). Timings: Buses leave the airport Mon-Fri: 0645, 0900, 1100, 1300, 1500, 1700, 1900, 2100, 2230 & 0000. Weekends & Holidays: 0645, 0900, 1100, 1300, 1500, 1700, 1930, 2200 & 0000. Route & Times: Hamburg Airport Terminal 2 (Bus stop A) (2300) - Hamburg ZOB (2330) - Hittfeld (2345) - Hannover Airport (0115) - Hannover ZOB (0135) - Göttingen ZOB (0335) - Kassel (0405) - Frankfurt Airport Terminal 1 stop 22 (0620) - Frankfurt HBF main train station (0640) - Darmstadt HBF (0710) - Mannheim (0750) - Heidelberg HBF (0805). The return trip leaves Heidelberg HBF at 2115, Frankfurt HBF 2315, Frankfurt Airport 2335, Kassel 0145, Hannover ZOB 0430, Hannover Airport 0450 - Hamburg ZOB 0635 & Hamburg Airport 0700. General: These buses run from the Lufthansa enginering base, but not the airport terminals. This can be accessed from the terminals by the P/P9 parking bus which runs every 10 mins. By Train:
General: The S-Bahn train line now connects the airport to Hamburg city centre. The station is directly in front of the terminals and reached by escalators. Takes 1-2 mins. Public Transport Wesite in English here.
Route: S1 Train Line: Airport - Ohlsdorf (change here to U1 line) - Rübenkamp - Alte Wohr - Barmbek (change here to U2 or U3 lines) - Friedrichsberg - Wandsbeker Chaussee (change here to U1 line) - Hasselbrook - Landwehr - Berliner Tor (change here to U2, U3 & S21 lines) - Hauptbahnhof/Central Station (change here to many other lines) - Jungfernstieg - Stadthausbrücke - Landungsbrücken - Reeperbahn - Königstrasse - Altona - tyhen onwards towards Wedel. Important Note: When travelling from the city to the airport, the train divides at Ohlsdorf. Only the front 3 carriages go to the airport, the others go to Poppenbüttel.
Timings: Travelling time to the main train station is 25 mins.
Trains leave the airport Mon-Fri 0355, then every 20 mins 0434-0614, then every 10 mins until 2254, then every 20 mins until 0015. Saturdays, Sundays & Holidays every 10-20 mins 24 hrs a day.
Trains leave the Hauptbahnhof/Central Station in hamburg City Mon-Fri every 20 mins 0404-0544, then every 10 mins until 2224, then every 20 mins until 2344. Saturdays, Sundays & Holidays every 10-20 mins 24 hrs a day.

Hamburg Finkenwerder (XFW):

Location: 11 km/7 Miles west of Hamburg city centre.
By Bus: Local buses E40 & E51 run to the Airbus Factory.
Notes: This airport is used for aircraft construction by Airbus and has no airline flights.

Lübeck - Blankensee (LBC):

Location: 8 km/5 Miles S of Lübeck, 59 km/37 miles NE of Hamburg.

By Taxi: To Lubeck city centre ~€16/20 mins.

By Bus:
Public bus#6 to Lubeck: To Holstentor and Lubeck Hauptbahnhof. Timings: Runs ~every 30 mins 0415-0040. Cost: €2.95, takes 30 mins. Pay the driver, change given.
To Hamburg: An airport bus runs from Hamburg to and from Lübeck airport with journeys arranged to meet flights to London Stansted on Ryanair. Transfer time is ~1 hr 15 and costs €8 one-way.
By Train:
General: Lübeck Airport now has an own station "Lübeck Flughafen". The station is outside the terminal and ~200m to the left. It is under a bridge, and you can use an elevator to the platform.
Route: To travel to Hamburg, there is a choice of 2 routes, both involving a change of train: 1 via Lubeck and the other via Buchen.
Timings: Trains run once an hour on both routes.
Cost: To Lübeck Central: €2.95, takes ~8 mins. To Hamburg via Lübeck Central: €14, takes ~71 mins. To Hamburg via Büchen: €12.10, takes ~65 mins. Note: The "Schleswig-Holstein-Ticket" is the best ticket to get around Schleswig-Holstein, Hamburg and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. It costs €30 Euro and is valid for 5 people for 1 day. You can use any regional-train-services (RE, RB and S-train-services) in the whole region.
Notes from a Traveller Jul 2010: Note: there are 2 different prices (via Büchen and via Lübeck), but it's better to use the train via Lübeck Central, it's easier to get into the really comfortable train to Hamburg and you can use the 15 min in Lubeck for a snack at the bakery, Wok-express or McDonalds.
