Cape Town Intl (CPT):
Location
15 km/9 Miles ESE of the City.
Airport Overview:
A new terminal has now opened at thois airport. Details to follow.
By Road:
Follow the N2 eastbound from Cape Town until junction 16 which leads to the airport. Takes 20-40 mins depending on traffic. Note: Expect LONG delays on the N2 travelling West from the airport to the city between 0700 and 0900 weekday mornings. The journey to the city can take an hour.


By Taxi:
Availability: Taxis are readily available at the airport.
Approximate Costs: To the city centre ZAR 200 for the 1st passenger, and ZAR 20 for each extra passenger. 20-40 mins. To Fish Hoek ZAR 250-300 for the 1st pax and ZAR 20 for each additional.
Meter Basis: Flag Fall ZAR 7, then ZAR 11 per km and ZAR 48 per hour waiting. This fare is for the journey, not per passenger.

By Shuttle Van:
General: Shuttle services are available on demand or by pre-booking at the transfer desk in the arrivals hall. Shuttle buses drive passengers, on request, to their required destination. Schedules vary according to flight arrival times and passengers can also pre-book their return trip to the airport.
ATS Shuttle Tours: Run a transfer service from both terminals 24 hrs a day, and claim immediate departures from the airport with no waiting for shuttles to fill up as long as you are in a group of at least 2 people.

Rental Cars:
Note: The rental cars themselves are in the car parks outside the terminal. There are 2 parks for each rental company: one outside the Intl Terminal and the other outside Domestic. It is easy to get lost at the moment and end up at the wrong one, as I did, and face a long walk back!

Car Parking:
Katanga Valet Parking: is the only official Valet Parking company at the airport. Tel +27 (0)21 935 5700 or toll-free on 0861 482 538.
Covered Parking: 1 hour ZAR 12, 2 hrs ZAR 18, 4 hrs ZAR 28, 12 hrs ZAR 48, 24 hrs ZAR 84. Each extra 24 hrs ZAR 44.
Open Parking: 1 hour ZAR 7, 2 hrs ZAR 9, 4 hrs ZAR 18, 12 hrs ZAR 24, 24 hrs ZAR 42. Each extra 24 hrs ZAR 24.

Baggage Storage: Left luggage facilities reported to be available.
Notes: ATMs/Cash machines available in Intl arrivals by the main exit and in both Domestic terminals. A bank is also in Intl arrivals. A Bureau de Change is in the Intl baggage hall. There is a post office between Domestic Arrivals and Departures.
Airport Hotels: Road Lodge is just across from the terminals.
