By Bus:
Airport Bus: There are reported to be 3 buses a day in either direction between Murcia city and the airport, the first bus leaving Murcia at 1300 and arriving at the airport at 1345. However see notes below.
San Javier Bus: Bus #70 runs from nearby San Javier (3 km/2 miles away) into Murcia for €6. A taxi to San Javier from the airport costs ~€8.
Notes from a traveller Aug 2006: I had enormous trouble getting to Murcia airport last week. The first bus from Murcia city to the airport is at 1300 and takes 45 mins (not great if your flight leaves at 1400), and there are only 3 per day. Taxi cost me €50 and took about 30 mins. Also, there are only 3 buses per day from the airport to Murcia town. Basically you either have to hire a car or get a taxi to and from this one.
Notes from a traveller Oct 2009: The airport bus no longer runs. You need to get a taxi to San Javier town and then take a bus from there.
