Location: 8 km/5 Miles WNW of Downtown Tampa.

Airport Overview: One large terminal divided into two sides: Red & Blue. The 2 sides are more or less identical. To get from one side to the other, cross over on the 2nd floor. Level 1 (The lower/ground level) of each side is for baggage claim and ground transportation. Level 2 is for ticketing, check-in and reservations. Level 3 is for departures and the Airport Hotel, Lelel 5 is for the Monorail to the Long Term Parking Lot. Levels 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 & 9 are for Short Term parking. There are 4 Ground Transportation Areas at the extreme ends of the baggage claim areas on the lower level of each side of the terminal. These are labelled Red 1, Red 2, Blue 1 & Blue 2. Taxis and shuttles can be found at most or all of these. The Public Bus only calls at area Red 2.

By Taxi:
General: Taxis wait at the Ground Transportation area at the extreme ends of the baggage claim areas on the lower level of each side of the terminal. A Taxi Despatcher desk is there. In case there are no taxis or despatcher present, there is a courtesy phone to summon a taxi.
Costs: Meter Rates are as follows: $2 plus $2.25 per mile. Minimum fare from the airport is $15. To downtown Tampa $25 (maximum chargeable)/15-25 mins. To Clearwater Beach $50-55. To St Petersburg $35-45. To St Petersburg Beach $63. To the Port of Tampa $25 (maximum chargeable) 20-25 mins.

By Bus:
City Bus: Hartline bus 30: Hartline Bus 30 stops at the east end of Red Baggage Claim (Red 2). Close to Baggage Belt #20. Runs Eastbound to International Plaza, Marion Transit Center (MTC) and Downtown, and NorthWestbound to the NW Transfer Center. Change to other buses at the MTC.
Route: Northwest Transfer Center - Waters Ave - Hanley Rd - Hillsborough Ave - Kelly Rd - Memorial Hwy - Eisenhower - Tampa Airport (Red 2 Bus Stop Lower Level) - Airport Post Office - Spruce St - Westshore Blvd (Marriott, Intl Plaza, Quorom, Embassy Suites, Westshore Plaza & Westshore Hotels)- Westshore Plaza Transfer Center - Kennedy Blvd - University of Tampa - Whiting St (Downtown Tampa) - Marion St - MTC (Marion Transit Center).
Timings: Buses leave the airport heading towards Downtown Tampa Mon-Fri at 0514, then every 15 mins until 2142, 2237, 2312, 2337 & 0042. Saturdays every 30 mins 0738-2238. Sundays every 30 mins 0740-2240. Buses leave the airport heading towards the NW Transfer Center Mon-Fri every~30 mins 0513-0018. Saturdays & Sundays every 30 mins 0716-2216.

Hotel Buses: Many local hotels, including the Wyndham Westshore Hotel, run shuttle buses for guests. These depart from the Ground Transportation area at the extreme ends of the baggage claim areas on the lower level of each side of the terminal.

Car Parking:
Valet Parking: $2 per half hour, with a $5 minimum. Daily max $25. Drop off at the blue departure curbside 0530-1730 or 24 hrs a day on level 5.
Short Term: First hour free, then $1 per 20 mins, daily max $20. Parking is on levels 4 to 9.
Long Term: First hour free, then $1 per 20 mins, daily max $15. The monorail to the long term parking is on level 5.
Remote Economy Lot: $1 per 20 mins, $9 per day. Returning passengers should board parking shuttle buses at Ground Transportation Areas Blue 1 or Red 2.
Cell Phone Parking: Cell phone parking lots, located within 5 minutes of major airport terminals, are intended to reduce airport congestion. Motorists coming to the airport for arriving passengers can go to one of the cell phone parking lots. Once the arriving party reaches the terminal sidewalk with luggage in hand, he or she makes a call. The waiting motorist can be curbside within minutes to quickly pick up the traveler and be on their way. At Tampa airport, the cell phone parking area is near the post office at the airport entrance. Flight info and free WiFi at the lot.

Money Services: ATMs/Cash machines are on level 3 near the shops.
Notes: Baggage Carts available for rent at $4. There are hotel booking boards with courtsey phones in baggage claim. Free WiFi Internet available in the terminal.
