Lerwick - Tingwall (LWK):
By Bus:
No buses actually call at the airport, but a number of buses pass within a mile
or less:
The Leasks or Whites buses to Mossbank & Lerwick
The Leasks or Whites buses from Mossbank passes Tingwall
crossroads, less than 1 km/1 Mile from the airport (out of the terminal
onto the main road, turn left and walk for 10 mins until the
junction with the main Lerwick Road). Route: Lerwick (The
Esplanade) - Tingwall Crossroads - Girlsta - Nesting Junction - Voe -
Brae - Toft Ferry Terminal - Mossbank. Timings: Buses leave
Tingwall crossroads heading from Lerwick Mon-Fri at 0735, 0835, 1007,
1335, 1600, 1748 & 1820. Saturdays: 0835, 1007, 1600, 1757 & 1820. No
Sunday service. Buses leave Tingwall crossroads heading for Mossbank
Mon-Fri at 0812, 1145, 1415, 1600, 1720 & 2200. Saturdays: 0812, 1415,
1640 & 1720. No Sunday service. Buses leave lerwick Mon-Fri at 0755,
1130, 1400, 1545, 1710 & 2145. Saturdays: 0755, 1400, 1625 & 1710. To
Lerwick 17 mins, Voe 16 mins, Brae 26 mins, Toft 48 mins & Mossbank 1
hour.
Local
bus to Lerwick & Walls
This bus
passes the end of the airport access road, 100m from the terminal.
Route: Lerwick Esplanade - Tingwall Town - Airport Road - Weisdale -
Bixter - Walls. Timings: Buses pass by the airport heading for Lerwick
at 0830, 1035*, 1400* & 1835. Buses pass by the airport heading for
Walls at 0920*, 1245* & 1715. * Not on wednesday. Buses leave Lerwick
Mon-Fri at 0905*, 1230* & 1705. To Lerwick 15 mins. To Walls 30 mins.
Cost: To Lerwick ~£1.35.

Scatsta - Sullom Voe (SCS):
Location: 2 km/1 Mile SW of Graven, 3 km/2 Miles SSW of Sullom Voe Oil Terminal & 32 km/20 Miles N of Lerwick in the Shetland Islands.
By Road: 42 km/26 Miles/30-40 mins to Lerwick.
By Taxi: Yvonnes Taxi 01595 522552.
By Bus: A very infrequent bus service
passes the airport on the way to Sullom Voe Oil Terminal. On Mon-Fri, the Leasks
bus passes the road junction at the end of the airport accesa road at 1715 on
the way to Brae, Voe & Lerwick. In the other direction, it leaves Lerwick Viking
Bus Terminal heading for Sullom Voe at 0755. To Lerwick ~1 hour. More frequent
buses leave from the town of Brae, a few km/Miles to the West.

Sumburgh - Shetland (LSI):
By Bus:
A
regular bus service runs to and from Lerwick. However, if flights are delayed it does not wait. The last flight to land on a
Sunday arrives at 1730, and the last bus to Lerwick departs at 1745. As often happens, my flight was late, and the bus pulled away just as I exited the
terminal. The only practical option then is to take a taxi, or cheaper if going to Lerwick, to hire a car.
Route:
Airport - Gruntness Pier - Sumburgh Hotel - Scatness (5 mins) -
Hestingott - Exnaboe - Quendale - Robins Brae - Levenwick (15 mins) - Sandwick -
Cunningsburgh (30 mins) - Fladdabister - Quarff - Gulberwick (40 mins) -
Shetland Hotel - Viking Bus Station Lerwick (50-60 mins).
Timings:
Buses leave the airport Mon-Fri at 0740, 1055, 1235, 1345, 1650 & 1945.
Saturdays: 1055, 1345, 1500 & 1710. Sundays: 1055, 1515, 1645 & 1745.
Buses leave the Viking Bus Terminal in Lerwick Mon-Fri at 0600, 0900,
1030, 1200 & 1400. Saturdays: 0730, 0930, 1200, 1400 & 1615. Sundays:
1055, 1515, 1645 & 1835.

(01950 460 444) have a desk in arrivals and have cars available at surprisingly
low prices. It is usually cheaper to hire a car than take the taxi to Lerwick
and back.
Bolts Car Hire
01950 460777 or 01595 693636 do not have a desk at the airport, but if you
pre-book rental cars from them, a lady will meet you in arrivals holding a sign.
Leasks Self Drive (01595 693162) have an office at Exnaboe close to the
