Location: 11 Miles/18 km N of the City Centre.
Airport Overview: 2 Terminals, 1 and 2, which both offer domestic and International flights.

By Bus:
General:	Buses depart from the lower/arrivals floor of the terminals and have schedules posted. Buses going to Galeao airport have Aeroporto Internacional written on the front, and call at the major hotels too. Buses will stop anywhere on the route.
Real AutoÔnibus Buses:	Run buses on several routes throughout the city. Buses run from 0520-0010 roughly hourly.
	Executive Bus #2018 from Galeão Airport to the Central Bus Station, downtown Rio de Janeiro, Santos Dumont Airport, and the southern parts of the city along the beach, ending up at Alvorada Bus Terminal in Barra da Tijuca. Timings: Buses run every 30m mins 0530-2230. Cost: BRL 8 or more.
	Another route goes along Copacabana beach and onto Ipanema, Leblon, Vidigal, São Conrado and Barra da Tijuca for BRL 5.
	Other routes go to Centers, Guanabara, Gloria, Pouso Real, Sao Francisco, Ambassador, Itajuba, and many major hotels.
	Real Auto Ônibus operates the  The same company also offers a service to Alvorada Bus Terminal with a different and more direct route.[12] Ticket counters for this bus service can be found at the arrivals area of both terminals.
Public Bus 324:	Runs from Galeao airport to Centro (Rio city centre).

Airport to Airport: Real AutoÔnibus Bus #2145 or #2018 from outside arrivals runs to Santos Dumont Airport. Cost: BRL 6.50. By Taxi to Santos Dumont BRL 39/25 mins.
Currency Services: ATMs are located on the 3rd floor of the International Terminal. Quite hard to find (follow signs or ask). There were 3 different bank ATMs on my visit in Jan 2011 but none of them accepted foreign cards or VISA cards. There is a Bureau de Change/Currency Exchange on the lower level of the International Terminal.
Notes: This is the International airport for Rio de Janeiro, though some domestic flights also operate.

Location: On an island very close to the Downtown area.
Airport Overview: The airport is divided into 2 separate buildings: Departures to the South Side and Arrivals to the North. It is a very short walk between the 2 buildings.   
On Foot:  Short walk to the city centre.

General:	Taxis wait outside the arrivals building. Generally, white radio taxis are more expensive than the white and blue Comum Taxis.
Approximate Costs :	To the City Centre BRL 10/5 mins. To Copacabana: BRL 21-25 depending on time of day and traffic/10-20 mins. Notes: This airport is used for the São Paulo shuttle and flights to several other domestic destinations such as Porto Seguro & Belo Horizonte. Some domestic flights also operate from Galeao airport. There is a post office downstairs in the arrivals building and upstairs in departures. Baggage Carts/trolleys are free at this airport.
Airport Hotels: There is no airport hotel, but due to the airport's proximity to downtown Rio de Janeiro, there are many hotels nearby.
