Location: 35 km/21 miles NNE of the City.

Overview: One large,
modern terminal on one level, divided into arrival and departure sides.
Driving directions:
The airport can be reached from Highway 102 leading north from Halifax.
Note: Traffic in Halifax on weekdays between 1630 and 1800 can be awful,
with bottlenecks on both bridges. On my visit in September 2007, it took me 90
mins to get to the airport, leaving downtown at 1645.

Fare to Halifax is ~CAD$53, but if you book ahead with Ace-Y/Yellow Cab (902) 429 4444, it is only $22.70 if you are prepared to share. Call 4 hrs in advance. Travel Time: 30-40 mins to downtown Halifax, but can take much longer at rush hour (1630-1800). |

| Cost: Adult One way CAD$18. Child under 10 accompanied by an adult free. Travel Time: Takes ~30 mins from the Holiday Inn Harbourview to the airport, and ~55 mins from the Lord Nelson Hotel. Note: Each passenger is allowed 2 regular sized bags. Each batg over this limit will be charged at $6 per bag. Oversized bags, as well as skis and golf bags will vbe charged at $6 each. | Acadian Bus to Truro, Moncton, Fredericton & Montreal: | Route: Halifax city - Dartmouth - Halifax Airport - Truro Bus Terminal (40 mins) - Amherst - Sackville - Moncton (3 hrs 15) - Fredericton (~6 hrs) - Perth/Andover (~8 hrs) - Grand Falls - Edmundston (~10 hrs) - Ville Degelis - Cabano - Riviere du Loup (~11 hrs) - Montreal (~17 hrs) - Ottawa - Toronto (~24 hrs). Timings: Buses leave Halifax airport daily at 0805 & 1335 (this service only runs as far as Montreal). An additional service leaves the airport at 1655, but only goes as far as Moncton. | The Cloud Nine Shuttle: | Runs from Yarmouth to Halifax city and airport. Timings: They try to pick you up at your door in or near Yarmouth by 0800, or if this is not possible, you are asked to meet the shuttle at MacDonald's for an 0800 departure. | Notes from a traveller February 2010: | Warning: you may be towed without warning if you leave your car unattended on the "Arrivals" road, even if just going inside the airport to pick up a passenger. The signs are misleading and there are no 'Tow Away Zone' signs posted there at all. People should not park on that road anywhere, if they are not going to be in their car at all times. (They need to park in the Parkade). |
Sydney (YQY):
Location: 9 km/6 Miles ENE of Sydney.
By Taxi: To downtown Sydney ~$20, or $12 for a
shared taxi.

terminal, but about once an hour, buses pass along the main road, 1.5 km/1 Mile
from the airport, on the run from Sydney to Glace Bay.
