| Meter Rates: | Official sources say that fares are regulated by meter. However, in practice, taxis are NOT metered and you may need to approach a cab and bargain! Make sure you agree a price first. For more info call Tourist information on 06999 6441. |
| Approximate Costs (Set fares): | Taxi journeys to and from the airport are subject to a €2 airport fee. To Valetta €20-€25/15 mins. To Sliema €25 including €2 airport fee. |

| General: | The bus fares for tourists have recently been reduced and so the best tickets to buy are the €1.50 day ticket or the €6.50 7 day ticket, both of which allow unlimited travel on the daytime buses. These tickets can be bought on the bus or from machines at major bus stops. These tickets last for 1 or 7 calendar days, not 24 or 168 hrs from first use. They cannot be used to travel on night buses after 2300. Tickets purchased on buses in Malta cannot be used to travel on buses on Gozo and vice versa. |
| Airport Express Buses: | AIRPORT EXPRESS services, numbered X1-X5 & X7, now link the airport with Valletta, Marsaskala, the Three Cities, Rabat, Sliema, St. Julians, Buggibba, Qawra, St.Pauls Bay, Mellieha & Cirkewwa (for the Gozo Ferry). |
