Lyon - St Exupéry (LYS):
Location19 km/12 Miles E of the City.

Airport Overview: There are 3 terminals, Terminal 1, Terminal 2 & Terminal 3, all joined together. There is an area with shops in the middle and a train station linked to it. The rental car areas are reached by a free shuttle bus.
By Road:
The airport is signed from the city as Saint Exupéry. If driving to the airport from the city, take the A43/E70 and follow signs for St Exupery. A toll of €1.70 is payable in both directions for cars. More for larger vehicles. Signage in the city and airport area is poor. Following signs from the airport to the city, leads you to a roundabout after about 3 miles. The choices on the signs are Geneva or Grenoble. No mention of Lyon! In fact the Geneva sign will take you to the city.


By Taxi:
Regular Taxi: A taxi rank is in front of Terminal 1, level 1, & a taxi desk is on level 1 in the central hall and is open 0700-2200 tel (0)4 72 22 72 21. Taxis also wait outside the airport train station. Taxi info is available from Taxi Aeroport tel (0)4 78 55 34 31.
Average Fares: To Lyons city centre €40-50 (day 0700-1900) & €50+ (night 1900-0700)/30-40 mins. To Eurexpo €35/46, Ecully €47/67, Givors €58/80. To Chambéry €110/165, Bourg-en-Bresse €108/153, Grenoble city €123/180, Macon €123/180, Roanne €120/175, Geneva €195/290, Vienne €63/100, Valence €125/190, Villefranche/Saone gare €73/105 & Annecy €170/245.

SATOBUS: SATOBUS Tel +33 (0)4 72 68 72 17 runs the airport-city shuttle. It stops at several METRO & train stations where connections can be made to points all over the city.
Satobus to Lyon city: Route: Airport - Mermoz-Pinel Metro (opposite Galeries Lafayette) - Grange-Blanche Metro - Part-Dieu Metro station. The Satobus usually continues to Gare SNCF Perrache in the city centre, but at the moment, this has been temporarily stopped due to construction work.
Timings: Buses leave the airport Mon-Fri every 20 mins 0600-2340. Weekends & Holidays every 20 mins 0600-2300 & 2340. Buses leave Lyon Part Dieu Mon-Fri every 15-25 mins 0440-2120. Weekends & Holidays every 15-25 mins 0500-2120. From Grange-Blanche 10 mins later. Travel Time: Takes ~40 mins. Latest schedules.
Cost: €8.90 one-way, €15.80 2 month return, child (4-11 yrs) €4.40 one-way & youth (12-24 years) €6.70 one way.
Other destinations: Satobus also runs buses to: Chambéry Bus Station (€22 one way/€33 return/60 mins), Aix-les-Bains Train Station (€22/€33/85 mins) & Annecy Bus Station (€33/€49.50/2 hrs): Leaves terminal 1 upper level at: Mon-Fri: 0900, 1200, 1600, 1800 & 2100. Saturdays: 0900, 1200, 1600 & 1800. Sundays & Holidays: 1200, 1600, 1800 & 2100. Timings: Buses leave Annecy Mon-Fri: 0600, 0900, 1200, 1500 & 1700, Saturday: 0600, 0900, 1200 & 1500, Sunday & Holidays: 0900, 1200, 1500 & 1700. Buses leave Ais-les-Bains 35 mins later and Chambéry a further 25 mins later. Cost: See above. Children (4-12 yrs half price on these services). Under 25's also get discounts.
Grenoble Bus Station via Grenoble CENG (€20 one way/€30 return/65 mins). Timings: Buses leave terminal 1 upper level at: Mon-Sat: every hour 0630-2330. Sundays: every hour 0730-2330. Buses leave Grenoble Mon-Sat every hour 0500-2100, Sunday every hour 0600-2100. Cost: See above. Children (4-12 yrs half price on these services). Under 25's also get discounts.
Bourg-en-Bresse Bus Stop (€25 one way/€40 return/75 mins) Timings: Buses leave terminal 1 upper level at Mon-Fri at 0845, 1200, 1545 & 1945. Saturdays at 0845 & 1545. Sundays at 1545 & 1945. Buses leave Bourg-en-Bresse Mon-Fri at 0630, 1030, 1330 & 1750, Saturday at 0630 & 1330. Sunday at 1330 & 1750. Cost: See above. Children (4-12 yrs half price on these services). Under 25's also get discounts. Note: This service is on request only.
Voiron. This is a reservation only service and runs as required to Voiron Bus Station. Timings: Buses leave terminal 1 upper level at Mon-Fri at 0900, 1155, 1555 & 2000. Saturdays at 0900 & 1900. Sundays at 0955 & 1900. Buses leave Voiron Mon-Fri at 0530, 0955, 1300 & 1755. Saturdays at 0715, 1300 & 1700. Sundays at 0815 & 1555. Cost: 1 way €20, round trip €30. Children (4-12 yrs half price on these services). Under 25's also get discounts. Contact: Call 04 76 27 89 29 or 0825 825 536 to reserve 72 hours in advance.

By Other Bus:
Transisère Bus 1410 to Bourgoin-Jallieu: Route: Airport - St Quentin Fallavier -  La Verpilliere - Villefontaine - L'Isle d'Abeau - Bourgoin (La Grive) - Bourgoin (Pont St Michel). Timings: Buses leave terminal 1 upper level at Mon-Fri at 0700, 0800, 0900, 1145, 1530, 1710, 1815, 1900 & 2100. Saturdays at 0900, 1300, 1530 & 1900. No Sundays service. Buses leave Bourgoin Pont St Michel Mon-Fri at 0540, 0700, 0800, 1005, 1310, 1600, 1710 & 1805. Saturdays at 0710, 1200, 1410 & 1710. No Sundays service.  Travel Times: To Bourgoin 40-50 mins. Cost: €3.20 one-way. Contact: Tel 04 74 96 42 67.
Chambéry Bus: Route: Airport - Grenay RN6 (10 mins) - La Verpuilliere (15 mins) - Bourgoin-Jallieu (35 mins) - Ruy-Monceau - Cessieu (55 mins) - La Tour du Pin (1 hour) - St Didier - St Andre le Gaz (70 mins) - Les Abrets - Pressins le Sablon (75 mins) - Pont de Beauvoisin - Chambery Bus Station (1 hour 45). Timings: Only one departure per day in each direction. The bus leaves the airport Mon-Sat only at 1815. The bus leave Chambery bus station Mon-Sat at 0725. No Sunday service. Cost: One way €6.20. Rhône Express Bus: From summer 2010, the Rhone Express Bus will run between the airport and Part Dieu station in Lyon in 30 mins.

By Train:
General: The train station is ultra-modern and connected to the terminals via a walkway. Trains run to many French destinations (although sadly not Lyon!) and to Italy. The TGV ticket office is open 0630-1925 Mon-Fri, 1100-1230 & 1330-1920 Sat-Sun. For more info see www.sncf.com.
Destinations include: Aix-les-Bains (1:20, 5 per day), Annecy (1:55, 5 per day), Arles (2 hrs, 2 per day), Avignon (1:35, 4 per day), Chambery (1 hr, 6 per day), Grenoble (1:10, 4 per day), Montelimar (1 hour, 4 per day), Orange (1:20, 2 per day), Paris Gare de Lyon (2 hrs, 12 per day), Toulon (2:20) & Valence (30 mins). Internationally: Milano/Milan (5 hrs, 1 per day), Torino/Turin, Italy (3hrs 30) & Milan.

On-Airport Rental Car Providers: All the car rental agencies are together and are reached from the terminal by a free bus which runs from terminal 2 lower level every 6-10 mins 0730-2330. Companies include AVIS 04 72 22 75 25, ALAMO, Budget 04 72 22 74 74, EUROPCAR 04 72 22 75 28, HERTZ 0 825 00 69 69, National/Citer 04 72 22 74 88 & eSixT 04 72 22 72 72. Car Parking:
General: A large number of long and short term car parks are at the airport. For information see the airport website.
Pick up and drop off: 15 mins free parking is available at the terminal and train station for drop-off. Each extra 2 mins €0.50.
P0 & P1 (covered short stay): 1 hour €6.50, 2 hrs €8 (P1) or €9 (P0), 2-8 hrs €10.50, 8-17 hrs €15.50, 17-24 hrs €18.50. Each extra day €18.50. 8 days €148.
P2 (Short Term): 1 hour €4.50, 2 hrs €6, 2-8 hrs €9.50, 8-17 hrs €13.50, 17-24 hrs €15.50. Each extra day €15.50. 8 days €121.
P6 (Short Term): Next to the TGV train station. 1 hour €4.50, 1-2 hrs €8, 2-8 hrs €9.50, 8-17 hrs €13.50, 17-24 hrs €15. Each extra day €15. 8 days €103. A free shuttle runs from the terminals to this car park. It runs every 10-15 mins 0415-2315 and every 20 mins outside these times. For more info call 04 72 22 77 90.
P5 (Long Term): 3 days €37.50, 4-7 days €40, 8-14 days €50, 15-21 days €70. A free shuttle runs from the terminals to this car park. It runs every 10-15 mins 0415-2315 and every 20 mins outside these times. For more info call 04 72 22 77 90.

Transfer between terminals: A free shuttle bus links the 2 terminals and the car parks. It is easy to walk between the 2 terminals and to the train station.
Airport Hotels: Hotel Sofitel is in the terminals, and the Kyriad Hotel (04 72 23 90 90) is a short distance away (freephones are available in the terminal). Forum Hotel (04 78 40 60 50) runs a free shuttle. The nh hotel (04 72 23 05 50) is at Terminal 3.
Notes: Between terminals 1 and 2 is the Centre which has facilities such as ATM, Post Office, Travel Agencies, Information etc. This Airport was formerly knows as Lyon Satolas Airport.
