Lyon Bron (LYN):  Location: 9 km/6 Miles ESE of the city centre.  Airport Map: Click here By Taxi: Lyon Taxi Prestige Tel 06 87 97 47 90.  By Public Transport: The nearest metro station is Mermoz-Pinel, about 5 km/3 Miles from the airport. Lyon - St Exupéry (LYS):  Location19 km/12 Miles E of the City.  Airport Map: Click hereAirport Overview: One terminal area with shops in the middle and a train station linked to it. The rental car areas are reached by a free shuttle bus.  By Road: The airport is signed from the city as Saint Exupéry. If driving to the airport from the city, take the A43/E70 and follow signs for St Exupery. A toll of €1.70 is payable in both directions for cars. More for larger vehicles. Signage in the city and airport area is poor. Following signs from the airport to the city, leads you to a roundabout after about 3 miles. The choices on the signs are Geneva or Grenoble. No mention of Lyon! In fact the Geneva sign will take you to the city.


By Taxi:
Regular Taxi: A taxi rank is in front of Terminal 1, level 1, & a taxi desk is on level 1 in the central hall and is open 0700-2200 tel (0)4 72 22 72 21. Taxis also wait outside the airport train station. Taxi info is available from Taxi Aeroport tel (0)4 78 55 34 31.
Average Fares: To Lyons city centre €40-50 (day 0700-1900) & €50+ (night 1900-0700)/30-40 mins. Note: On a visit in May 2005, a charge of €70 was made for the same journey at 6am! To Eurexpo €35/43, Ecully €45/65, Givors €55/75. To Chambéry €110/165, Bourg-en-Bresse €95/140, Grenoble city €110/170, Macon €115/170, Roanne €110/165, Geneva €185/275, Vienne €55/100, Valence €125/190 & Annecy €155/235.

By SatoBus:
SATOBUS Tel +33 (0)4 72 68 72 17 runs the airport-city shuttle. It stops at several METRO & train stations where connections can be made to points all over the city.
Route: Airport - Mermoz-Pinel Metro (opposite Galeries Lafayette) - Grange-Blanche Metro - Part-Dieu Metro & Train station - Lyon Perrache Gare/Station (Bus & Metro station) - Jean-Macé Metro.
Timings: Runs 0500-2100 every 20 mins from Lyon Perrache (First bus from Jean Mace 0505, Part Dieu 0515, Grange-Blanche 0525 & Mermoz-Pinel 0530) and 0600-2340 from the airport. Leaves the airport at 00, 20 & 40 mins past each hour. Note there is no bus at 2320. Takes ~45 mins.
Cost: €8.40 one-way, €14.90 2 month return, child (4-11 yrs) €4.20 one-way & youth (14-24 years) €6.20 one way.
Other destinations: Satobus also runs buses to Chambéry Bus Station (€20 one way/€30 return/60 mins), Aix-les-Bains Train Station (€20/€30/85 mins) & Annecy Bus Station (€30/€45/2 hrs): Leaves terminal 1 upper level at: Mon-Fri: 0900, 1200, 1600, 1800 & 2100. Saturdays: 0900, 1200, 1600 & 1800. Sundays & Holidays: 1200, 1600, 1800 & 2100. Buses leave Annecy Mon-Fri: 0600, 0900, 1200, 1500 & 1700, Saturday: 0600, 0900, 1200 & 1500, Sunday & Holidays: 0900, 1200, 1500 & 1700. Buses leave Ais-les-Bains 35 mins later and Chambéry a further 25 mins later. Children (4-12 yrs half price on these services). Under 25's also get discounts.
Grenoble Bus Station via Grenoble CENG (€20 one way/€30 return/65 mins): Leaves terminal 1 upper level at: Mon-Sat: 0630, then every hour until 2330. Sundays: 0730 then every hour until 2330. Buses leave Grenoble Mon-Sat: every 60 mins 0500-2100, Sunday: every 60 mins 0600-2100. Children (4-12 yrs half price on these services). Under 25's also get discounts.
St Étienne (La Terrasse €26 one way/€52 return/1:15). Leaves terminal 1 upper level at: Mon-Fri: 0835, 1455 & 2015. Saturdays: 0900, 1515 & 1830. Sundays: 1000, 1515 & 2015. Buses leave Saint Étienne Mon-Fri: 0600, 1200 & 1700. Saturday: 0600, 1345 & 1700. Sunday: 0800, 1345 & 1700. Children (4-12 yrs half price on these services). Under 25's also get discounts.
Ambérieu-en-Bugey Train Station (€30 one-way/€54 return/40 mins) & Bourg-en-Bresse Bus Stop (€33 one way/€60 return/75 mins): Leaves terminal 1 upper level at: Mon-Fri: 0900, 1200, 1540 & 1940. Saturdays: 0845 & 1545. Sundays: 1545 & 2000. Buses leave Bourg-en-Bresse Mon-Fri: 0630, 1030, 1330 & 1750, Saturday: 0650 & 1415, Sunday: 1415 & 1815. Buses leave Amberieu 35 mins later. Children (4-12 yrs half price on these services). Under 25's also get discounts. This service is on request only.
Valence. This is a charter only service and runs as required. The cost is for 1 person €85, 2 persons €110, 3 persons €125, 4 persons €135 etc up to 8 persons €235. Call 04 75 78 48 79 to reserve 72 hours in advance.

By Other Bus:
Transisère Bus 1410 Runs on the route: Airport, St Laurent de Mure, Grenay, La Verpilliere, Villefontaine, Vaulx-Miliuex, L'isle d'Abeau & Bourgoin-Jallieu. Runs several times per day in each direction on Mon-Fri and less frequently on Saturdays. Leaves the airport at 0650, 0855, 1040, 1250, 1635, 1710, 1740, 1815, 191, 2040 & 2155 arriving at Bourgoin 50 mins later. Leaves Bourgoin Hospital at 0555, 0610, 0658, 0740, 0938, 1220, 1310, 1407, 1715 & 1807 arriving at the airport at 50 mins later. Tel 04 74 96 42 67. Cost: €2.90.
Chambéry Bus: Route: Airport - Grenay RN6 (10 mins) - La Verpuilliere (15 mins) - Bourgoin-Jallieu (35 mins) - Ruy-Monceau - Cessieu (55 mins) - La Tour du Pin (1 hour) - St Didier - St Andre le Gaz (70 mins) - Les Abrets - Pressins le Sablon (75 mins) - Pont de Beauvoisin - Chambery Bus Station (1 hour 45). Timings: Only one departure per day in each direction. The bus leaves the airport Mon-Sat only at 1815. The bus leave Chambery bus station Mon-Sat at 0725. No Sunday service. Cost: One way €6.20. By Train:
The train station is ultra-modern and connected to the terminals via a walkway. Trains run to many French destinations (although sadly not Lyon!)
Destinations include: Aix-les-Bains (1:20), Aix-en-Provence (1:10), Annecy (1:55), Arles (2 hrs), Avignon (1:35), Chambery (1 hr), Grenoble (1:10), Marseille (90 mins), Montelimar (1 hour), Montpellier, Nice (4 hrs), Orange (1:20), Paris Gare de Lyon (2 hrs), Toulon (2:20) & Valence (30 mins). Internationally: Torino/Turin, Italy (3hrs 30) & Milan.
The TGV ticket office is open 0630-1925 Mon-Fri, 1100-1230 & 1330-1920 Sat-Sun. For more info see www.sncf.com.

Rental Cars:
On-Airport Rental Car Providers: All the car rental agencies are together and are reached from the terminal by a free bus which runs from terminal 2 lower level every 6-10 mins 0730-2330. Companies include AVIS 04 72 22 75 25, ALAMO, Budget 04 72 22 74 74, EUROPCAR 04 72 22 75 28, HERTZ 0 825 00 69 69, National/Citer 04 72 22 74 88 & eSixT 04 72 22 72 72. Car Parking:
A large number of long and short term car parks are at the airport. For information see the airport website.
Pick up and drop off: 20 mins free parking is available at the terminal and train station for drop-off. Each extra 2 mins €0.50.
P0 (covered short stay): 1 hour €6.50, 2 hrs €8, 8 hrs €10.50, 17 hrs €15.50, 24 hrs €18.50. Each extra day €18.50. 8 days €148.
P2 (Short Term): 1 hour €4, 2 hrs €6, 8 hrs €9, 17 hrs €13, 24 hrs €15.50. Each extra day €15.50. 8 days €121.
P6 (Short Term): 1 hour €2.50, 2 hrs €5, 8 hrs €8, 17 hrs €10.50, 24 hrs €12. Each extra day €12.50. 8 days €99.50.
P5 (Mid/Long Term): 8 hrs €8, 24 hrs €12.50, 2 days €25, 3 days €37.50, 4-7 days €40, 8-14 days €50, 15-21 days €60. A free shuttle runs to the long term car parks. It runs every 10-15 mins 0415-2315 and every 20 mins outside these times. For more info call 04 72 22 77 90.

Transfer between terminals: A free shuttle bus links the 2 terminals and the car parks. It is easy to walk between the 2 terminals and to the train station.  Airport Hotels: Hotel Sofitel is in the terminals, and the Kyriad Hotel (04 72 23 90 90) is a short distance away (freephones are available in the terminal).
