Notes from a Traveller January 2010: You say that Luton Airport Parkway railway station is “curiously” not at the airport but a 10 minute bus ride away. You are correct – and the reason for this is that the airport is on the top of a steep hill, and the railway is at the bottom. It would take a rack and pinion to get a train up there!!! The bus is really not too bad, though, fast, and plenty of them. It is also certainly cheaper than parking at the airport.
