By Local Bus:
Arriva Buses: Arriva operates bus services from the airport to other parts of the city and beyond. Check times for each route at
Airlink Bus  500 to Liverpool: Serves many places around the City Centre including London Road (closest stop for National Express connections) and Lime Street Station (for local, regional and mainline rail connections).
Route: Airport (bus stop 1 right outside the terminal) - Estuary Business Park (0512-2032 only) - Marriott Hotel South, Speke Rd - Ibis Hotel, Albert Dock - Chapel St (Thistle Hotel) - National Express Coach Station (Norton St) - Lime Street Train Station (out the station, down the steps, turn right onto Lime Street Opp St George's Hall) - Queen Square Bus Station - James St (Train station) - Paradise St Bus station - Estuary Business Park (0512-2032 only) - Airport.
Timings: Buses leave the airport daily every 30 mins 0645-2345. Buses leave Lime Street station daily every 30 mins 0645-2345. Buses leave Paradise Street interchange about 12-15 mins later (first bus on bank holidays is 0715 from airport, 0750 from Lime Street).
Travel Time: Takes 35 mins to the city. Cost: Adult one way 2.50. Euros accepted.
Airlink Bus 501 to  Liverpool South Parkway rail station: An dedicated express service between Liverpool John Lennon Airport and Liverpool South Parkway, the closest train station to the airport. Timings: The journey is fast, taking just 10 mins, and frequent, running every 20 mins. Buses leave the airport Mon-Sat every 20 mins 0707-1907. Buses leave the train station Mon-Sat every 20 mins 0651-1851. Other local buses serve Liverpool South Parkway outside these hours. Cost: 1.60/2 one-way. Children half price.
Arriva Bus 80A to Liverpool: Route: Airport - Estuary Business Park - Speke Blvd/Glaxo - Liverpool South Parkway Station(stand 3) - Allerton Rd/Penny Lane - Princes Park Gates - Hanover St/Blacks (city centre). On the trip to the airport, the bus starts at Paradise St Interchange (stand 8).
Timings: Leaves the airport (stand 2) Mon-Fri several times an hour 0609-2302. Saturdays several times an hour 0801-2302. Sundays twice an hour 0932-2302. Buses leave Paradise St Interchange in the city centre Mon-Sat every 15-30 mins 0636-2339, and on Sundays every 30 mins 1009-2339.
Buses leave Liverpool South Parkway Station heading for the airport Mon-Sat every 15-30 mins 0714-0012, and on Sundays every 30 mins 1042-0012.
Cost: 1.20. Travel Times: Takes 50 mins to get to the city centre, and 15 mins to get to Liverpool South Parkway Station.
Arriva Bus 81A to Bootle: Route: Airport - Woolton Village - Gateacre - Childwall - Broadway - Bootle Bus Station. Timings: Buses leave the airport Mon-Fri 0547, 0609, 0639, 0657 and then every 10 mins until 1727 then every 30 mins or so until 2106. Saturdays: 0757 then every 30 mins until 1757 then every 30 mins or so until 2106. Sundays: every 30 mins 0913-2113. Outside these times bus 181 runs. Cost: To Bootle 1.20/1 hour.
Arriva Bus 82A to Runcorn: Route: Paradise St Bus Station - Toxteth - Aigburth - Garston (Speke Rd) - Airport - Speke (Eastern Ave/Hale Rd) - Widnes (Green Oaks) - Runcorn (High St) - Halton Lea South - Halton Hospital - Murdishaw (not all buses). Timings: Runs Mon-Sat every ~30 mins 0618-2232. Sundays every hour 0732-2353.
Arriva Buses 86A to Liverpool: Route: Airport (Stand 3) - Estury Business Park (until 2000) - Liverpool South Parkway Station (stand 3) - Allerton Rd/Penny Lane - Smithdown Rd/Lodge Lane - Liverpool City centre (Elliot St). Timings: Buses leave the airport Mon-Fri every 20-30 mins 0651-2340. Saturdays every 20-30 mins 0742-2245. Sundays at 0715, then every 30 mins 0815-2245. Buses leave Paradise St in the city centre Mon-Fri every 20-30 mins 0708-2330. On Saturdays every 20-30 mins 0747-2340. On Sundays at 0715, 0815, 0915, 0950, then every 30 mins until 2250. Buses leave Liverpool South Parkway station heading for the airport  Mon-Fri every 20-30 mins 0743-0003. On Saturdays every 20-30 mins 0803-0003. On Sundays at 0706, then every 30 mins 0806-0003. Note: The N86 bus runs on the same route at night every 30 mins. Travel Times: To Liverpool South Parkway Station ~8 mins & to the city centre ~45 mins.
Arriva Bus 89 to St Helens: Route: Airport - Speke - Hunts Cross (Woodend Ave) - Woolton - Gateacre - Belle Vale - Netherley - Naylorsfield - Huyton Station - Prescot - Whiston - Portico - St Helens Bus Station. Timings: Leaves the airport Mon-Sat 0710, 0740, 0810, 0830, 0850 then at 10, 30 & 50 mins past the hour until 1810, 1835, 1905, then every 30 mins until 2305. Leaves the airport on Sundays every 30 mins 1005-2305. Buses leave St Helens Bus station Mon-Sat 0710-2320. Sundays every 30 mins 0950-2320. Travel Time: To St Helens 1 hour 15 mins. Cost: 1.20.
HLS Bus 883 to Huyton Quarry: Route: Airport (bus stop 5) - Estuary Business Park - Speke (Skyway Ford) - Woodend Ave - Hunts Cross - Halewood (Ravenscourt Bus Facility) - Netherley - Belle Vale - Huyton Bus Station - Huyton Quarry. Timings: Leaves the airport Mon-Fri every hour 0433-0833 & 1233-2133 & 2300. Travel Time: To Huyton Quarry ~1 hour. Cost: 50p.

By Longer distance Bus:
Terravision Coach to Manchester: Route: Liverpool airport (stop 2 outside arrivals) - Sackville Street in Manchester - Shudehill Exchange. Timings: Buses leave the airport daily at 0025, 0200, 0310, 0520, 0540, 0800, 0830, 0930, 1000, 1100, 1200, 1230, 1300, 1330, 1430, 1510, 1630, 1710, 1740, 1840, 1910, 2000, 2030, 2130, 2230 & 2350. Journey time is ~50 mins to Manchester city centre. Cost: 7 adult one way and 3 child one way. Adult return 10. Child return 6. For best results book on-line (click on the banner to the left).
National Express: Run coaches to and from Liverpool coach station on Norton Street in the city centre to points all over the UK. Use the 500 bus to get there.

By Train:
General: Although there is no station at the airport, there are 3 options for train travel from this airport. Trains run from Liverpool South Parkway to Liverpool Lime Street, on a suburban line through the city to Bootle and Southport, and to Crewe and Birmingham, Manchester, Sheffield, Nottingham and East Anglia.
Via Liverpool Lime Street: The Airlink 500 bus runs every 30 mins (see bus section above) to Liverpool Lime Street station in the city centre. Transfer time 35 mins. This is Liverpool's main station, and from here, connections are possible to the rest of the UK.
Via Liverpool South Parkway Station: This is the closest train station to the airport. Buses 80A, 86A & 886 run to Liverpool South Parkway station. For details see bus section above. Trains from here run to Liverpool, Southport, Warrington, Manchester, Crewe, Wolverhampton & Birmingham.
Via Hunts Cross: Bus 81A runs to Hunts Cross station. Transfer time 10-15 mins. This is a very small station, with fewer trains, but trains do run to Manchester - Oxford Road (takes ~45 mins), and to Liverpool Lime Street and Southport. Change at Oxford Road for trains to Manchester Airport (Total transfer airport to airport 1 hour 40/10.20).

Short Stay: 10 mins free, 30 mins 2.70, 1 hour 3, 2 hrs 5.50, 3 hrs 8, 4 hrs 10, 6 hrs 15, 12 hrs 22 & 24 hrs 28. 2 days 45, 3 days 55.

Airport to Airport: To Manchester Airport: By Taxi ~55/30-50 mins. By Bus & Train: Take the bus to Hunts Cross or Lime Street Station and take the train from there to Manchester Airport train station.
