Location: 48 km/30 Miles ESE of Monrovia City
in Robertsfield.
By Taxi:
To Monrovia city ~60 km/38 Miles/US$ 30-35.
Notes from a Traveller March
2012: Going from the airport into town, I paid US$10 to share a taxi to
Monrovia. I think the local guy who organized it paid US$20 for the 3
of us. This sort of thing is easily arranged by the roadside just outside
the airport gate.
(Across the street from Robertsfield Airport is a small market with
several local restaurants selling cold beer.)
Returning to the airport, one can hire a shared taxi from ELWA Junction
near the stadium east of Monrovia to the airport for US$10. These taxis
normally load five passengers at US$2 per person so they're happy to leave
immediately for US$10. ELWA Junction is easily accessible from Monrovia or Sinkor by yellow
shared taxi for under a dollar.
BTW, I found Liberia totally safe to visit.
By Bus: A bus is reported to
run to the city.
Airport Tax: Intl departure tax is US$40, but usually now included in
the ticket price.
