Kuala Lumpur Intl - KLIA (KUL):  Location: 55 km/35 Miles SE of the City.  Airport Overview: One main terminal where most flights operate and a smaller Low Cost Carrier Terminal (LCC-T) for Air Asia flights.  Driving directions: From Kuala Lumpur, take either the North-South Expressway Central Link (ELITE), which is a toll road, or the KL-Seremban Highway. Turn off at the Nilai North Interchange onto the North-South Expressway toll road or at the Nilai Interchange onto the Salak Tinggi Link. Road distance 75 km/49 Miles.  By Taxi: To KL city centre ~MYR 68/60 mins. To Melaka/Malacca ~MYR 125. Purchase pre-paid taxi ticket in the arrivals hall to avoid being overcharged.


By Bus:
Express Bus to Hentian Duta: To Hentian Duta terminal to the North of the city. Cost: Adult: MYR 20 one way, 34 return. Child: MYR 9/16.
The Skybus: (LCC Terminal only) Route: Runs from the LCC-T ONLY to KL Central station. The SkyBus terminal is on the lower ground floor of KL Sentral. It faces the open air car park and Jalan Tun Sambanthan. There are clear signs in KL Sentral Station. If still unsure, ask at the information counter at KL Sentral for directions. Timings: Buses leave the LCC Terminal daily at 0700, 0800, 0915, 1015, then every ~30 mins until 0115. Buses leave KL Sentral station daily at 0330, then every ~30 mins until 2015. Travel Time: Takes about 75 mins. Cost: MYR 9. Note: Skybus also operates Skyvans which will take you from KL Sentral onwards to your hotel in the city.
Other Buses: Express and local buses run to Nilai, Kuala Lumpur (~60 mins), USJ (a district within the Petaling Jaya municipality) and Subang from the bus station on the ground level of the car park, which can be reached via the skyways from the mezzanine level of the main terminal. Bus prices from KLIA to town (Jalan Duta Terminal) are MYR 20.

By Train:
KLIA Ekspres Train to KL Central Station: The Airport is now accessible by Express Rapid Transit train from KL Central station. Timings: Trains run every 15 mins 0500-0100.  Transfer Time: It only takes ~28 mins. Cost: MYR 35 for a one way trip, children MYR 15. Return fares: Adult MYR 70, child MYR 30. Note: This train runs non stop to the city. For intermediate stops, see the Transit train below. Contact: Tel 2267 8000.
KLIA Transit Train: A service to supplement the KLIA Express fast train service is the KLIA Transit stopping train. Route: Airport - Salak Tinggi - Putrajaya - Cyberjaya - Bandar Tasik Selatan - KL Sentral Station. Timings: Runs every 30 mins 0552-0100 from the airport. Transfer Time: To KL Sentral ~35 mins. Cost: To the city centre is MYR 35/children MYR 15 (same as the Express). To Putrajaya MYR 9.50 one way, 15 return
KTM Commuter Trains: KTM Komuter trains run every 15-30min from KL Central & Kualar Lumpur (old main station) stations to Nilai station, where there is a connecting bus from the station itself to the aiport bus station (ground floor car park). The bus costs MYR 2.50 and the train to/from the city to Nilai is MYR 4.50. It runs 0715-2230 from KLIA Airport. This is the cheapest way from KLIA to the city. Important note: InterCity & Express trains do NOT stop at Nilai, which is for suburban trains only.

Rental Cars: AVIS, Budget, HERTZ, National, Thrifty & many other local companies operate 24-hour desks in the arrivals concourse, on level 3 in the main terminal.  Transfer between terminals: A courtesy Aerotrain operates between the main terminal building and Satellite A (journey time 2 mins) every 3-5 mins. To the Low Cost carrier Terminal: There is a shuttle bus from the LCC-T to KLIA and vice versa. It costs MYR 1.50 one way, and runs every 30 mins.  Airport to Airport: Taxi to Subang Airport 65 mins.  Notes: Most domestic and Intl flights, including AirAsia, now depart from this airport. Domestic flights operated by Barjaya Air still depart from Subang Airport. Kuala Lumpur - Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah/Subang (SZB):  Location: 20 km/12 Miles W of the city.  By Taxi: ~MYR 40/30 mins to city centre. Operates on a coupon system. Coupons can be bought in the arrivals area. Long queues for taxis are possible.  By Bus: Every 20-30 mins to City centre bus station.  Airport to Airport: Taxi to KLIA ~65 mins.  Notes: This is the Former International airport now used for Barjaya Air and charter flights only.  Updated Mar07.  Visited Airport  [back].[top]
