Kuala Lumpur Intl - KLIA - Main Terminal (KUL):
Location: 44
km/28 Miles S of KL City Centre.
By Road: 75
km/49 Miles/40-60 mins from the city centre.
From Kuala Lumpur,
take either the North-South Expressway Central Link (ELITE), which is a toll
road, or the KL-Seremban Highway. Turn off at the Nilai North Interchange onto
the North-South Expressway toll road or at the Nilai Interchange onto the Salak
Tinggi Link.
Airport Overview:
KLIA has 2 terminals: One main terminal where most flights operate and a
smaller Low Cost Carrier Terminal (LCC-T) for Air Asia flights. These terminals
are a considerable distance apart, and a taxi or shuttle bus is needed to
connect.
Terminal Overview:
The Main
Terminal is on 5 levels: Level 5 is the departure hall & viewing area. Level 4
is for airline offices. Level 3 is the arrivals hall and taxi stands. Level 2 is
for car parks A & B and the public bus station. Level 1 is for the charter and
tour coach station.
Transfer
between terminals:
A courtesy Aerotrain operates between the main terminal building
and Satellite A (journey time 2 mins) every 3-5 mins.
To the Low Cost carrier Terminal: There is a shuttle bus that runs
between the LCCT and the KLIA main terminal (public bus terminal). It costs MYR 1.50 one way, and runs every 30 mins.

| Approx Costs: | To KL city centre: 1-4 people with 2 bage MYR 75-85/60 mins. 4 people with more bage ~MYR 95. Minivan (5-8 people) MYR 181. To Melaka/Malacca ~MYR 125. Purchase pre-paid taxi ticket in the arrivals hall to avoid being overcharged. Regular taxis in KL are red, and are usually very reluctant to use the meter for a trip to the airport. Executive taxis in KL city are blue and are usually happy to use the meter, however prices are higher and include a MYR 15 supplement for KLIA/LCCT and a 50% surcharge at night (0000-0600). | |

| Public Bus Station: | The Public Bus Station is in the annexe, on the ground level of the car park, which can be reached via the moving walkway from the mezzanine level (Level 2) of the main terminal. Cross over and go down one level. There are ticket desks for the various companies inside. Buses pull up outside. Express and local buses run to Klang, Nilai, Kuala Lumpur, USJ (a district within the Petaling Jaya municipality) and Subang. |
| Star Shuttle to Pudu Raya, KL city: | Route: LCCT - KLIA Main Terminal (only a few buses per day stop here) - Batu 3 (Jalan Ipoh) - Puduraya Bus Station in the SW suburbs of KL and to Chinatown & Kota Raya (Platform 23). Timings: Buses leave the Main Terminal Public Bus station daily at 0545, 0700, then every 30-90 mins until 1530, 1730, 1900, 2115, 2230, 2315, 0015, 0115 & 0200. Timings: Buses leave KLIA Main Terminal daily at 0915, 1215, 1415, 1615, 1815, 2130, 2345 & 0215. Buses leave Ipoh heading for the airport daily at 0100, 0230, 0430, 0730, 0930, 1400, 1730 & 2100. Buses leave Medan Gopeng heading for the airport daily at 0130, 0300, 0500, 0800, 1000, 1430, 1800 & 2130. Travel Time: To Medan Gopeng ~3 hrs. To Ipoh ~3:30. Cost: MYR 42 one way, MYR 75 return. | Airport Coach to KL City: | Route: Runs from the Main Terminal ONLY to KL Central station. The bus station is on the lower ground floor of KL Sentral. It faces the open air car park and Jalan Tun Sambanthan. There are clear signs in KL Sentral Station. If still unsure, ask at the information counter at KL Sentral for directions. Timings: Buses leave the Airport Main Terminal Public Bus Station daily every hour 0630-2130, 2245, 1200 & 0100. Buses leave KL Sentral station daily every hour 0500-2300. Travel Time: Takes about 60 mins. Cost: Adult: MYR 10 one way, MYR 18 return. Child: MYR 6 one way, MYR 13 return. TRansfer direct to hotels for MYR 18. |

| KLIA Ekspres Train to KL Central Station: | The Airport is accessible by Express Rapid Transit train to/from KL Sentral train station. The Airport station is on level 1 of the terminal and well signed. Timings: Trains run every 15 mins 0500-0100. Transfer Time: It only takes ~28 mins. Cost: MYR 35 for a one way trip, children MYR 15. Return fares: Adult MYR 70, child MYR 30. Note: This train runs non stop to the city. For intermediate stops, see the Transit train below. | KLIA Transit Train: | A service to supplement the KLIA Express fast train service is the KLIA Transit stopping train. Route: Airport - Salak Tinggi - Putrajaya - Cyberjaya - Bandar Tasik Selatan - KL Sentral Station. Timings: Runs every 30 mins 0505-0103 from the airport. Transfer Time: To Putra Jaya 17 mins. To KL Sentral ~35 mins. Cost: To the city centre is MYR 35/children MYR 15 (same as the Express). To Putrajaya MYR 9.50 one way, 15 return |
| KTM Commuter Trains: | KTM Komuter trains run every 15-30min from KL Central & Kualar Lumpur (old main station) stations to Nilai station, where there is a connecting bus from the station itself to the aiport bus station (ground floor car park). The bus costs MYR 2.50 and the train to/from the city to Nilai is MYR 4.50. It runs 0715-2230 from KLIA Airport. This is the cheapest way from KLIA to the city. Important note: InterCity & Express trains do NOT stop at Nilai, which is for suburban trains only. |
| Onward Transfer from KL Sentral: | Once arriving at KL Sentral station there are a number of ways of getting to your final destination. Commuter & Metro trains run all over the city. Several taxi companies have desks upstairs in the station concourse, such as Budget Taxi. They run into the city at the following rates: 2 km MYR 5, 4 km MYR 6, 6 km MYR 8, 7 km MYR 9, 8 km MYR 10, 10 km MYR 11 etc. |

| On-Airport Rental Car Providers: | AVIS, HERTZ, Kasina, Mayflower, Orix, Pantas, Prac & other local companies operate 24-hour desks in the arrivals concourse, on level 3 in the main terminal. The desks for the different companies are not all together, so a short walk may be required to find your desk. | |

extremely well designed and well appointed terminal, with restaurants and duty
free shops. There is, however, no bar. The LCCT and Main terminals
are a considerable distance apart, and a taxi or shuttle bus is needed to
connect. The LCCT is divided into Intl and domestic sides, but they are close
together and easily walked.
Transfer
between terminals:
There is a shuttle bus
that runs between the LCC-T and the KLIA main terminal. It costs MYR 1.50 one way, and runs every 30 mins.
It departs from outside domestic arrivals at the LCCT.

| Bus Stop Location: | Buses stop outside the domestic terminal. Exit and turn left. No schedules are posted at the bus stop, but staff from the companies are on hand to help. Bus and Van transfer companies have desks in the domestic baggage hall. Re-entry is possible if needed to make a reservation. Similar desks are in the Intl baggage hall, but these cannot be accessed after clearing customs. |
| The Skybus to KL city centre (LCCT only): | Route: Runs from the LCCT ONLY to KL Central station. The SkyBus terminal is on the lower ground floor of KL Sentral. It faces the open air car park and Jalan Tun Sambanthan. There are clear signs in KL Sentral Station. If still unsure, ask at the information counter at KL Sentral for directions. Timings: Buses leave the LCC Terminal daily at 0700, 0800, 0915, 1015, then every ~30 mins until 0115. Buses leave KL Sentral station daily at 0330, then every ~30 mins until 1900, then hourly until 2200. Travel Time: Takes about 75 mins. Cost: MYR 9. Airport
Overview: Terminal 1 has been demolished, Terminal 2 is used by airport
management and Berjaya Air & Firefly use Terminal 3. Terminal 3 is currently
undergoing extensive renovation and will become the Skypark Terminal.
