Bangalore/Bengaluru
- Hindustan (VOBG):
Location: 13
km/8 miles E of the city train Station. 9 km/5 miles E of the MG Road area.
By Road:
Traffic in Bangalore is notoriously bad. However, the recent completion of a new
airport flyover has reportedly improved the situation somewhat.
By Taxi: To Bangalore city center INR 350 (non Air
conditioned)/INR 450 (AC)/25 mins. To the city bus station INR 450/550/30 mins.
To Mysore INR 2500/3500/3 hrs.
Airport Hotels:
The closest decent hotel is the
Bangalore Royal Inn, just
a 5 minute walk from the terminals. Stand with your back to the arrivals
building and walk down the main road in front of you, leading away from the
airport. You will see the red sign on the left after 5 mins. Not a luxury hotel,
but air-conditioned and suitable for a short stay. Prices start at INR 2200. Tel

Notes: The new Bangalore
International Airport has now opened and Hindustan airport is closed to
passengers.

Bangalore/Bengaluru International (BLR):
Location: 4 km/2 Miles S
of Devanahalli & 29 km/18 Miles NNE of Bangalore city centre.
By Road:
40 km/30 mins-2 hrs to the city centre.
By Taxi: Meru Cabs

and Easy Cabs

are the two official taxi operators at Bengaluru Intl Airport. They provide
convenient, safe, easily accessible and cost effective travel in a standard air
conditioned Sedan to passengers. Cost: INR 15 per km, plus waiting charge of INR 60 per hour.
Transfer time can
still vary from 30 mins (early in the morning) to 2 hrs at peak times!!
By Limo:
There is a limo desk in arrivals.
By Bus:
Buses will run to the city center.

Mangalore
- Bajpe (IXE):
Location: 12
km/7 miles NNE of the City, but nearer 20 km/13 Miles by road.
By Taxi:
To the city center ~INR 300.
By Bus: Bus No 47b & 47c run from the city bus stand to
the airport. An Airport bus from the Indian Airlines office departs at 0700 Tu,Th,Sa and 0900 other days
for INR 20.
