Budapest - Ferihegy (BUD):
Location: 16 km/10 Miles SE of the City.
Airport Overview:
There are 2 terminals, Terminal 1 (used for low-cost airlines and recently re-opened) and Terminal 2 which is divided into 2A & 2B. These 2 are close together and can easily be walked. Terminal 2A is for Schengen destinations, while terminal 2B is for non-Schengen. Transfer to Terminal 1 needs a taxi or bus #200. Right beside terminal 1 is a small GA terminal for private flights.

By Taxi:
General: Taxis are available from the airport at the taxi stand. Notes from a Traveller July 2008: ONLY Zóna Taxi is allowed to pick up passengers at the Airport and they have fixed rate for different zones. To the airport ANY taxi can take pax but the price shouldn't be much away from the Zóna Taxi price. Zóna Taxi has fixed price from the Airport only but to the airport they use the meter. So, Zóna Taxi is great from the airport but to the airport there is no difference between Zóna Taxi and the others. General rule, it is always cheaper to call a taxi thru the call centre than hitch one on the street.
Approximate Costs: To the city centre (Pest) ~HUF 5200/25 mins. To Buda ~HUF 5800.
Zóna Taxi: Run taxis between the airport and the city. Charging is on a zonal basis: Airport area HUF 3000/€14. Pest HUF 4100/€19, Eastern Buda and N Pest HUF 4200/€19. Western Buda HUF 4300/€20. Transfer between airport terminals HUF 1600/€7. To places outside Budapest HUF 200/km. Contact: Tel 365 5555.
Other Taxi Companies: Despatcher Taxi +36 1 43 333 43, Tourist Taxi 365 5555, Főtaxi 2 222 222, City Taxi 2 111 1111 & Taxi 2000 2 000 000.
