Helsinki - Vantaa (HEL):
Location: 18
km/11 Miles N of the City centre & 25 km/16 Miles NE of Espoo.
Airport
Overview: 2 Terminals: Terminal 1 & Terminal 2. Terminal 2 is mainly for Finnair
& Oneworld Airlines (both domestic & international), Terminal 1 is mainly for SAS, Lufthansa,
& other Star Alliance Airlines (both domestic & international).
Check your Terminal. They are linked by an internal corridor and are 5
mins apart. Both terminals have bus stops outside, but the one outside the Intl
terminal is much larger.
Driving directions: Take the Keha III airport road from the north side of the E-18/50 Helsinki ring road or from the 45
Tuusula-Helsinki road before reaching the E-18/50.

Timings: Buses leave the airport at 0545, then every ~20 mins from
0620-0040 & 0110. From
the city, the first departure is at 0500, and the last at midnight. Departs from behind the Scandic Continental Hotel: 0505 then every 20 mins
until 1935, 2005, 2035, 2105, 2125, 2145, 2205, 2225, 2305, 2325, 2345 &
0005. The bus calls at both the domestic & international terminals. |

Cost: €5.90 Adult one way. Credit cards, US Dollars, British Pounds & other
Scandinavian currencies are accepted. If you have already purchased a
Helsinki Card (Adults €34 for one day), the fare is only €3.80. It is
a Regional Ticket which allows the user a timed usage of a connection to
a tram once in the City Center.

The Helsinki Card is a card that covers
travel on public transport within Helsinki. Airport transfers are not free
with this card, but holders are entitled to a 30% discount. For adults, a

Helsinki Heliport:
Location:
In the dock area 2 km/1 Mile S of the city centre. Address is Hernesaari,
Hernematalankatu 2, 00150 Helsinki.
By Taxi: To Central Helsinki 5 mins.
Notes: This Heliport is used by
Copterline for flights to Talinn.
However, in October 2006, flights had
been completely suspended, and there is some doubt whether they will resume.
