Introduction: For convenience, this airport is divided into 2 sections: Terminals 1 & 3, Terminal 4 & Terminal 5. For better transport options, it may be necessary to first transfer from Terminal 4 to Terminals 1, 2 & 3 or to Hatton Cross.


Airport Overview:
General: 4 Terminals: Terminal 4 is to the south of the airport, while Terminals 1 & 3 are in the central area and inter-connected by underground and overground walkways. Terminal 5 is to the West. Terminal 2 is now permanently closed. There is an Underground/Tube station in the central area as well as a bus station & Heathrow Express Station. T4 has its own bus station as well as an Underground & Heathrow Connect Train stations. Terminal 5 has its own Underground and Heathrow Express Stations. The Heathrow Express train has stations at the central area and at T5.

There are 5 main places to catch buses at Heathrow. The main bus station for Terminals 1 and 3 (Heathrow Airport Central Area) is located in the Central AreaThe Bath Road (A4) runs along the northern airport boundary, and many buses stop here. Known as Heathrow Airport NorthHatton Cross Underground station also has a bus stop which has many bus services as well as the Underground trains to Central London. Terminal 4 (T4) has its own bus stop. Terminal 5 has an extensive bus and coach station. Travel between the terminals, Hatton Cross and Heathrow Airport North is free on most, but not all buses. Buses are cheaper if you have an Oyster Card. It costs £3 (refundable), and must be pre-charged with value. It is then used electronically on buses and tubes. National Express to Central London: Operates from Bus stop 1 at the central area of Heathrow to Victoria Bus station in central London. From Victoria Coach Station, transfer is possible to buses all over the UK and into Europe. Timings: Up to 4 buses an hour leave the central bus station 0455-2135 daily. Bus U3 to Uxbridge: Route: Heathrow Airport Central Area - Heathrow Airport North - Hatch Lane/Bath Rd - Harmondsworth - Wise Lane - West Drayton Station (connect here to mainline trains) -  Yiewsley - Hillingdon Hospital - Cleveland Rd/Brunel University - The Greenway - Uxbridge station. Timings: Runs every 15-30 mins from bus stop 18 at the central bus stop at Heathrow. First bus from the Airport is 0511 and from Uxbridge 0430. Last bus from the Airport is 0017 and from Uxbridge 2346.
Bus X26 (Limited Stop) to Kingston & East Croydon: Route: Heathrow Airport Central Area - Hatton Cross - Teddington (Broad St) - Kingston (John Lewis) - Kingston (Clarence St) - New Malden (Fountain) - Worcester Park Station - North Cheam (Cheam Common Rd) - Cheam Village (Broadway) - Sutton Post Office - Carshalton High St - Wallington Green - East Croydon Train Station (connect here for Gatwick Airport) - West Croydon Bus Station. This bus stops ONLY at the points mentioned above. Timings: Buses depart the airport (Central bus station) Mon-Fri: 0550, 0640, 0735, 0845, 0950, then every hour until 1350, 1445, 1545, 1645, 1800, then every hour until 2200, 2240 & 2340. Saturday: 0600, 0700, 0755, 0850, then every hour until 1650, 1755, 1900, then hourly until 2200, 2240 & 2340. Sundays & Holidays: 0600, 0700, 0755, 0850, then hourly until 1650, 1755, 1900 then hourly until 2200, 2240 & 2340. Buses depart from East Croydon to a similar schedule. There is free wi-fi internet on the train. Timings: Trains leave Terminals 1 & 3 Mon-Sat every 15 mins 0512-2348. Sundays every 15 mins 0508-2353. Trains leave Paddington daily every 15 mins 0510-2325. Travel Time: Takes just 15 mins to Paddington station. Cost: To Paddington Station £16.50 one-way (online), £18 at the booking office, £329 return. Passengers using Terminal 4 before march 2008 can use the Heathrow Express to get to Heathrow Airport Central Area for free. Timings: Runs Mon-Sat every 30 mins 0522-0056. Via Feltham Station: Bus 285 from Terminals 1 & 3 to Feltham Railway Station (£1.20 buses run every 10-30 mins, runs 24hrs), then train eastbound to Hounslow, Twickenham, Whitton, Putney, Teddington, Clapham Junction & Waterloo (Central London), or westbound to Ashford, Staines, Windsor, Bracknell, Ascot, Winnersh, Earley Reading etc. One day travelcard to points all over london available after 0930 for £5.10. Trains also run from Feltham to Ipswich & Stratford.
Piccadilly Line Underground (known as the Tube): Heathrow airport has 2 Underground stations: one for Terminals 1 & 3, the other for Terminal 4. There is also a station at Hatton Cross. All provide regular train services on the Piccadilly Line into Central London.

Woking Railair 701: A dedicated coach service provides a direct link from Woking rail station to the central bus station at Heathrow. Woking is an excellent connection, linking areas including Basingstoke, Bournemouth, Guildford, Portsmouth, Southampton and Winchester to the airport. Route: Heathrow Central Bus Station - Heathrow Terminal 5 - St Peter's Hospital - Woking Train Station. : London Heathrow Airport is 25 km/15 Miles W of Central London, 12 km/8 Miles E of Windsor, 6 km/4 Miles NE of Staines.
Airport Overview:
5 Terminals: Terminal 4 is to the south of the airport, while Terminals 1 & 3 are in the central area and inter-connected by underground and overground walkways. Terminal 5, to the West, is now open. Terminal 2 is now permanently closed. There is an Underground/Tube station in the central area as well as a bus station. T4 has its own bus station. The Heathrow Express train has stations at the central area and at T4.

Passengers using Terminal 4 before March 2008 can use the Heathrow Express to get to Heathrow Airport Central Area for free. Timings: Runs Mon-Sat every 30 mins 0522-0056. By Train:
Heathrow Express to Paddington (Central London):  This train has 2 stations at the airport: The Central Area for terminals 1 & 3 and another at Terminal 5. Travel between these 2 stations is free. There is free wi-fi internet on the train. Timings: Trains leave Terminal 5 Mon-Sat every 15 mins 0507-2342. Sundays every 15 mins 0503-2348. Trains leave Paddington daily every 15 mins 0510-2325. Travel Time: Takes just 20 mins to Paddington station. Cost: To Paddington Station £16.50 one-way (online), £18 at the booking office, £329 return. Tickets can be booked by phone, online (save £1) or bought at self-service booths at the stations. Children under 15 travel free, when accompanied by an adult. Heathrow Connect stopping service to London: A stopping train service which runs on the same track as the Heathrow Express. Route: Heathrow Terminal 4 (starts in March 2008) - Heathrow (T1 & 3) - Hayes & Harlington - Hanwell - Southall - West Ealing - Ealing Broadway - London Paddington. Passengers using Terminal 4 before march 2008 can use the Heathrow Express to get to Heathrow Airport Central Area for free. Passengers from Terminal 5 can connect to the Heathrow Connect using the Heathrow Express. Timings: Runs Mon-Sat every 30 mins 0522-0056. Sundays every 30 mins 0613-0006. Travel Times: Takes 25 mins to Paddington. Cost: To Paddington (London) £6.90 one-way, £12.90 return. Day return £11.90. To Hayes and Harlington £4.90. To Ealing £5.50. Then the normal train fare onwards applies.
Piccadilly Line Underground (known as the Tube): Heathrow airport has 3 Underground stations: one for Terminals 1 & 3, one for Terminal 5, and the other for Terminal 4. There is also a station at Hatton Cross. All provide regular train services on the Piccadilly Line into Central London.
Route: Heathrow Terminal 4 - Heathrow Terminal 5 - Heathrow Terminal 1 & 3 - Hatton Cross - Hounslow West - Hounslow Central - Hounslow East - Osterley - Boston Manor - Northfields - South Ealing - Acton Town - Turnham Green - Hammersmith - Barons Court - Earl's Court - Gloucester Rd - South Kensington - Knightsbridge - Hyde Park Corner - Green Park - Piccadilly Circus - Leicester Square - Covent Garden - Holborn - Russel Square - King's Cross/St Pancras (for overground trains) - etc. TubeMap.

Railair Buses to Reading & Woking: The Railair services provide a valuable link to and from rail services on the local and national rail network from Reading & Woking.
Reading Railair: The Reading Railair connects the South West, the West Country, South Wales and the West Midlands to Heathrow. Route: Heathrow Central Bus Station - Reading Train Station (Blagrave St Exit). On the return to Heathrow, the bus drops at Terminal 1 UK Arrivals,  and Terminal 3 Departures. Timings: Buses leave Terminal 5 Mon-Fri at 0508, 0608, then every 20-30 mins until 2150, 2223, 2313 & 0013. Weekends & Holidays at 0508, 0608, 0710, then every 20-30 mins until 2100, 2138, 2208, 2313 & 0013. 26th December special timetable applies. Buses leave Reading Station Mon-Fri at 0400, 0500, then every 20-30 mins until 2105, 2205 & 2305. Weekends & Holidays at 0400, 0500, 0545 then every 30 mins until 1945, 2025, 2055, 2205 & 2305. Woking Railair: A dedicated coach service provides a direct link from Woking rail station to Terminal 5 (bus stop 10) at Heathrow. Woking is an excellent connection, linking areas including Basingstoke, Bournemouth, Guildford, Portsmouth, Southampton and Winchester to the airport. Route: Heathrow Central Bus Station - Heathrow Terminal 5 - St Peter's Hospital - Woking Train Station. Timings: Buses leave Heathrow Terminal 5 Mon-Fri every 30-60 mins 0600-2330. Weekends every 30-60 mins 0700-2330. Buses leave Woking station Mon-Fri every 30-60 mins 0520-2205. Weekends every 30-60 mins 0620-2205. Travel Time: To Woking 45-50 mins. Cost: Adult fare £9.
