Geneva/Genève/Genf - Cointrin (GVA):  Location: 5 km/3 Miles NW of the City centre.  Airport Map: Click here.  Airport Overview: The airport is made up of one terminal, divided into Swiss and French sectors. Immigration is possible into either country. Follow signs. By Bus:
Tickets can be bought from the ticket machines at the stops (small change required). The bus stops at the Departure and Arrivals levels. Cost: All passengers arriving in GVA can obtain a public transport ticket valid for 80 minutes for all public transport in Geneva (buses, trains, trams, boats), including transfers. The ticket machine giving out the special tickets is the luggage hall, just before customs. You may be required to show proof that you have actually flown that day into GVA, so keep your boarding passes. Visitors to Geneva who stay in a hotel (including youth hostels), have the right to a public transport pass (valid on all buses, trains, trams, boats within Geneva) for the duration of their stay in Geneva. Ask the receptionist of your hotel.
#5 bus to the city centre: Number 5 bus now also runs to the airport every ~15 mins during day time, less frequently other times. Route: Airport - Nations (UN institutions) - Cornavin (main) rail station - city centre - hospital.
#10 bus to the city centre & Onex-Cité: Route: Airport (upper level) - Airport Technical Block - Ramada Park Hotel - Terroux - Floralies - Pailly (Balexert) - Bouchet - Vieusseux - Servette - Poterie (16 mins) - Rue de Lyon - Gare Cornavin/outside main railway station - Coutance - Bel-Air - Stand - Palladium - Jonction (31 mins) - Bâtie - Claire-Vue - St Georges - Cemetery - Chemin de Bac - CEPTA - La Calle (40 mins) - Evaux - Onex-Cité.
Timings: Buses leave the airport Mon-Fri every 7-30 mins (but mostly every 10 mins) 0525-0023. Saturdays every 7-30 mins (but mostly every 15 mins) 0537-0023. Sundays every 10-30 mins 0555-0023. Buses leave from outside the train station Mon-Fri 0509-0012 every 7-20 mins. Saturdays every 8-20 mins 0517-0012. Sundays every 12-20 mins 0527-0012. Travel Time: Takes ~20 mins to the city centre.
Cost: CHF 3. This ticket is valid for 1 hour on all buses and trains.
#18 bus runs every 30 mins to the United Nations, La Lignon, Lancy & Carouge. It stops at the SW end of the airport near the technical block. Exit arrivals and turn right. CHF 3 for 1 hours travel on buses and trains.
#28 bus also runs to Blandonnet, Meyrib and Hôpital-La Tour. CHF 3 for 1 hours travel. Runs from the upper level bus stop ~every 20 mins. Turn left outside.
Long Distance Buses These depart from the lower level bus station/gare routière (across the road). Destinations served include: Chamonix, Gstaad, Le Fayet, Les Houches, Salanches, Flaine, Le Grand Bornand, Montreux, Tignes, Val d'Isère, Courchevel, Méribel, Les Arcs, Annemasse, Verbier, Avoriaz & others. many of these are likely to be seasonal. Monthly departure boards are posted in the bus station.
Aéro-Express Runs 4 buses a day on the route: Geneva Airport - Chambéry - Grenoble. Tel +33 (0)438 02 1333. Reservations required 48 hrs in advance.
Hotel Shuttle Runs from the lower level and serves: Intercontinental Genève, Chavannes-de-Bogis, Movenpick Hotel ICC, NH Geneva Airport, Crowne Plaza Hotel, Ramada Park Hotel (Penta), Ibis Geneva Airport (on demand only), Hotel Phoenix & Express buy Holiday Inn Geneva Airport. Runs every 20 mins 0600-2330. Free

By Train:
Location: The Airport railway station is 300 metres from the Airport departure/arrivals levels.
To Geneva: All trains stop at Geneva-Cornavin (city centre) and run every 5-10 mins 0612-0012. Takes 10 mins.
Beyond Geneva: There are direct connections to destinations in Switzerland and Europe (including TGV). Trains run every 20 mins to Lausanne CHF 24/1 hr. Other directly served destinations: Lausanne, Fribourg, St Gallen, Sion, Bern, Zurich, Brig, Neuchatel, Biel, Coppet, Nyon, Gland, Rolle, Allaman, Morges, Renens etc. Change at Geneva/Cornavin (city centre) for all other destinations. Basel/Basle (2:50), Berne (1:50), Brig (2:34), Fribourg (1:28), Lausanne (42 mins), Montreux (1:14), Sion (1:55) & Vevey (1:07).
Fares: To Geneva city CHF 3 for 1 hour's travel (also valid on buses). 1st Class CHF 5. A day pass ticket costs CHF 7.
