London - Gatwick (LGW):  Location: London Gatwick Airport is 44 km/28 Miles S of Central London, 36 km/22 Miles N of Brighton & 5 km/3 Miles NNE of Crawley.  Airport Overviw: There are 2 terminals at the Airport: The North Terminal & The South Terminal. These are connected by a free monorail train which connects the 2 in under 5 mins and runs frequently. The North Terminal is mainly for British Airways, Aer Lingus, Air France, American Airlines, Astraeus, Delta Airlines, Emirates, Etihad & First Choice. Most other flights depart from the South Terminal. There are bus stations at both terminals and a train station at the South Terminal only.  Driving Directions: Gatwick is directly linked to the M23 motorway at junction 9 and to the A23 London-Brighton road. Just a 10 minute drive away, the M25 further connects with the UK's extensive road & motorway network.


By Taxi & Limo:
Regular Airport taxi To central London £60-£90/60-90 mins. Traffic can be bad on this route.

The Airbus A5: Route: runs from London Victoria to Gatwick.
Oxford Express by the airline: This service provides a link between Gatwick (both terminals) & Oxford (Gloucester Green Bus Station) ~every hour, and every 2 hours at night. One-way £20 (child £10)/24hr return £25 (£12.50). 3 month return £27 (£13.50). Travel time 2-2½ hrs. Euros and dollars are accepted. Tel 01865 785 400.
Gatwick Flyer: Offers direct services to Southend. Please note this service is available from Gatwick South Terminal only. Further info 01708 730555 www.gatwickflyer.co.uk.
MetroBus 10: 24 hr Service Runs from the North terminal via S terminal, Gatwick Road North, Manor Royal (Faraday Rd), Crawley Bus Station, Broadfield (Barton) & Bewbush (Dorsten Square). Roughly every 10 mins 0420-0000 and every 30 mins 0000-0420. 70p-£1.10 depending on distance.
MetroBus 20: Route: Southgate - Airport (N Terminal and possibly the S terminal too) - Horley - Langshott.
MetroBus 100: Runs on the route: to Maidenbower (Matthews Dr & Village Centre), Three Bridges (Station & Gales Dr), Crawley Bus Station, Northgate (Woodfield Rd), Manor Royal (Faraday Rd), Airport S Terminal, Airport N Terminal, Horley (Library/Vicarage Lane & Lee St), Salfords Church, East Surrey Hospital, Earlswood (Train station) & Redhill Bus Station. Runs ~every 20 mins 0500-2330. MetroBus 200: Runs on the Route: Bewbush (Dorsten Sq), Gossops Green (Medway Rd), Ifield (Shopping Parade), Langley Green (Parade), Gatwick Road North, Airport South Terminal, North Terminal, Horley (Waitrose then Kings Head and finally Wheatfield Way). Runs every 30 mins 0430-2330. 70p-£1.10 depending on distance. Some buses begin at Broadfield (seymour Rd).

By Hotel Bus: 
Gatwick Hotel Hoppa: Gatwick Hotel Hoppa runs daily every 40 mins 0300-2350 on the route Quality Hotel - Travelodge - N Terminal - S Terminal - Ramada Hotel. Cost: £3.
Hotel Buses: Several hotels run buses to the terminals:
G1 & G3 Bus runs to Holiday Inn, South Terminal - North Terminal - Renaissance Hotel - Holiday Inn. Best Western Moathouse is close by. Runs every ~15 mins 0515-0010.
G2 Bus runs to South Terminal - North Terminal -Premier Travel Inn. Runs every ~20 mins 0400-2355.
G7 (Niteliner) runs at night, every 30 mins 0000-0525 to the Holiday Inn, Renaissance Hotel, S Term, N Term & Premier Travel Inn.
G23 Bus runs to Clarion Hotel, Travelodge & Ramada Plaza Hotel. Runs every ~40 mins 0321-2341
GH4 Bus runs to Europa Hotel Gatwick. Runs every ~45 mins 24 hrs a day.
H5 Bus runs to Travel Inn Gatwick, Copthorne Gatwick & Copthorne Effingham, Felbridge Hotel & Moat House Hotel. Runs every ~15 mins 0415-2225.
PT1 Bus runs to Russ Hill Hotel. Runs every 45-60 mins 24 hrs a day.

By Long Distance Coach: 
There are more than 400 express coach services a day from the coach stations at North and South Terminals. Gatwick's coach station is at the ground floor of South Terminal and principle services also call at North Terminal. There are coach information and ticket desks in the arrivals areas of both terminals. National Express coach services operate from dedicated bases at the South and North Terminals. All other coach services stop at Gatwick's coach station on the ground floor of South Terminal. Principal services also call at North Terminal. Other passengers arriving at the South Terminal should take the transit train to the North Terminal if necessary. The main direct express coaches to London Gatwick are listed below:
National Express coach services operates buses from dedicated bases at the South and North Terminals to a wide variety of destinations, including: Attleborough, Bournemouth, Branksome, Brighton, Cambridge, Heathrow Airport, Hickstead, Mildenhall, Newmarket,  Norwich, Parkstone, Poole, Ringwood, Stansted Airport, Thetford, University of East Anglia, Waltham Abbey, Westbourne & Wymondham.
Frequent buses run between both terminals and Heathrow airport. These buses leave from stop 2 at the North Terminal.
National Express #25 Route: London Victoria Coach Station, Pimlico, Stockwell, Streatham, Mitcham, Wallington, Coulsdon, Hooley, Gatewick Airport S Terminal, Hickstead & Brighton (including Pool Valley Coach Station). A very few services in the morning & evening continue to Seaford Via Rottingdean, Newhaven, Saltdean & Rottingdean. Runs every 15-60 mins 0515-2210 depending on time of day. National Express Airport #700 to Heathrow Airport Heathrow & Gatwick. Non-stop inter-airport transfer. (Formerly Speedlink). This service operates between Gatwick and Heathrow airports. There are dedicated points at both South and North Terminal. Tickets and info can be obtained at the bus and coach ticket desk on the Arrivals level of both S and N Terminal. Average journey time between Heathrow & Gatwick is ~80 mins depending on traffic and time of day. Journeys may take longer at peak traffic times. Runs all day and night. Timings: Buses leave Gatwick South Terminal heading for Heathrow, Stansted & Norwich daily at 0520, 0705, 0910, 1105, then every 2 hrs until 1705 & 1910. Runs 0450-0050. Timings: Buses leave Gatwick South Terminal daily at 0150, 0350, 0610, 0800, 1010, 1210, 1405, 1605, 1820 & 2010. Buses leave the North terminal 10 mins later. Dot2Dot: Dot2Dot is a new door to door airport transfer service from National Express, operating between central London hotels and Heathrow and Gatwick airports. They serve most of Central London from Hammersmith in the West to Tower Bridge in the East, from Waterloo and the tate Modern in the south to Kings Cross and Regents Park in the north. Cost: Prices start from £17.50, but central London hotels seem to be around £24 one way, £40 round trip. There are discounts for larger parties. Reservations are made on line.

By Train:
Gatwick railway station at the South Terminal has more than 900 services daily to and from all parts of the UK. The rail station is directly linked to Gatwick's South Terminal and just a few mins away from the North Terminal via a transit train link. Rail info and ticket desks are in the arrivals areas of both the N and S Terminals. Tel National Rail enquiries 08457 48 49 50.
The Gatwick Express to London Route: A non-stop service to Victoria Station in Central London. Timings:  From Gatwick, services run daily as follows: 0435, 0520, 0550 then every 15 mins 0605-0050. Last service at 0135. From London Victoria daily at 0330, 0430, then every 15 mins 0500-2345. Travel Times: ~30 mins. Cost: £14.90 one-way for adults, £26.80 return. A cheap day return is £15.20. First class tickets are also available. Contact: Tel 0845 850 1530.
Alternatively slower, stopping trains to Clapham Junction or Brighton and most of the rest of the UK.
South Central Trains Services operate Southwards to Bournemouth, Southampton, Portsmouth, Worthing, Brighton, Eastbourne, Hastings and other south coast destinations. Services operate Northwards to East Croydon, Clapham Junction, Victoria and Watford Junction.

Thameslink trains to London offers services every 15 mins to Brighton, Croydon, the City, Luton, Luton Airport and Bedford. To any London Thameslink station (London Bridge, Blackfriars, City Thameslink, Farringdon & Kings Cross Thameslink) £10.0 one-way. Thameslink Info 020 7620 6333
First Great Western Link Services run to Reading via Redhill, Reigate, Betchworth, Dorking Deepdeene, Dorking West, Gomshall, Chilworth, Shalford, Guildford, Wanborough, Ash, North Camp, Farnborough North, Blackwater, Sandhurst, Crowthorne, Wokingham, Winnersh, Winnersh Triangle & Earley. Change at Guildford for Portsmouth and at Reading for Oxford etc. Trains leave Gatwick Mon-Fri 0515-2318 once or twice an hour. Slightly less frequently at weekends. Southern Trains Southern runs trains from gatwick to Brighton, Hove, Lewes, Crawley, Horsham & Northwards to London. Trains run day & night. Every 15 mins Mon-Sat 1000-1900 at 08, 25, 38 & 56 mins after each hour. Every 15 mins on Sundays 0800-1600 at 22, 27, 53 & 59 mins past the hour. On Sundays 1600-2100 at 18, 23, 27, 38, 53 & 59 mins past. Trains then run every hour throughout the night. To London Victoria £9 one-way.
South Eastern South Eastern runs trains from gatwick to Strood via Redhill, Nutfield, Godstone, Edenbridge, Penshurst, Leigh (Kent), Tonbridge (Change here for Tunbridge Wells), Paddock Wood, Beltring, Yalding, Wateringbury, East Farleigh, Maidstone West, Maidstone Barracks, Aylesford, New Hythe, Snodland, Halling & Cuxton. Virgin Trains Cross Country  Services operate to destinations including Birmingham, Manchester and Edinburgh.

Airport to Airport: 
To Heathrow Airport National Express Bus buses 717, 727 & 797 run to London Heathrow T4 and Central bus station from both terminals at Gatwick. Buses from the North terminal depart from bus stop 2. Timings: Departures at least every hour during the day and less often at night. See Bus section above. Cost: £18 one way. Travel Times: Published at 65 mins. Note: There can be long traffic delays on this route.
To Luton Airport ◊Thameslink Trains run to Luton Airport. National Express Bus buses (£19.50/2:40+).
To Stansted Airport National Express Bus buses (£24.50/2:40+).
To London City Airport Take the train to Victoria. Then the Underground to Canning town or Canary Wharf. From there, shuttle buses run to the terminal.
To Birmingham Airport National Express Bus buses (£30/3:20). Trains also run to Birmingham International (for the airport).
To East Midlands Airport National Express Bus buses (£32.50/4:25). Buses leave Gatwick daily except Xmas day at 0640, 0855, 1200, 1445, 1755 & 2210.
To Southampton Airport Trains run directly to Southampton Airport Parkway.

Rental Cars:
On-Airport Rental Car Providers: National/ALAMOAVIS, Hertz Dollar/Thrifty & EUROPCAR.are all represented in the rental car buildings. These are separate from the terminal, opposite the arrivals level of each terminal. In the N terminal to reach the desks, go the the lowest level and cross the road. From the S terminal exit to the road and turn left. They are in separate buildings. There are freephones in the arrivals hall, just after immigration for contacting most of these companies.

For any longer stays, you may prefer to choose the long stay car park. Fast Track Ideal for the business traveller who wishes to get to the terminals quickly. Located within the short stay car parks offering quality under cover parking and the fastest most convenient link into the terminal building. Both South and North terminals have their own dedicated Fast Track car parks. Fast Track car parks are charged for a minimum time of 12 hrs parking. Long Stay: Ideal for the holiday-maker or for those who plan a stay of a few days. Gatwick's long stay car parks offer secure parking and the convenience of a regular courtesy coach to the terminals, a journey which takes only a few mins. Prices: 1-4 days £7 per day, 5-16 days £6.80 per day 17 days & over £6.50 per day (extra 30p Public Transport Levy applies to the 1st day parking only). Transfer Between Terminals: A free monorail runs between the upper levels of both terminals. Takes less than 5 mins.  Baggage Storage: Left luggage facilities are available in both terminals, operated by the Excess baggage Company. £5.50 per item per 24 hrs. In the N terminal they are next to BA check-in and open 0500-2100. Tel 01293 502 013. In the South terminal they are open 24 hrs a day and can be found in arrivals.
