By Bus:
Croatia Airlines/Atlas Bus: Atlas buses go to the main bus station, some 5 km/3 Miles W of the old town, near the Port at Gruž. The fare is HRK 30 and buses for the trip to the airport leave 90 mins before Croatian Airlines scheduled flights. Takes ~30 mins. Tel (+385-20) 773-232. From Gruz, Buses 1A or 1B take 10 mins and HRK 10 to reach the Old City (Pile Gate). Note: Other Airlines also operate buses. For example 2 hrs before British Airways departures from the airport, a bus leaves the bus station, and the same seems to be true of other airlines too. The only problem with taking this bus to the airport is that there is no information posted at the bus station, other than to say that buses leave 90 mins before flight departures. Clearly this is not always the case. Passengers taking charter flights and flights on other airlines may find it hard to determine when buses leave (I know I did!). Notes from A traveller March 2008: When I used Dubrovnik airport in March this year there was no indication that Croatia Airlines still ran buses. The only buses were run by a tour company Atlas, but did do as described for Croatia Airlines buses re cost and leaving times. The Atlas bus also calls at the Old Town (Pile Gate) after starting at the bus station (Gruz) then onto the airport. On arrival you do the Old Town first. The information desk at the bus station had a list of Atlas buses for the airport up and was very helpful.
Buses #11 runs from Dubrovnik to Molunat and stops outside the airport terminal but only 3 times daily.
Buses #27 runs from Radovcici to Vitaljna and stops outside the airport terminal, but only 3 times daily.
Bus#31 stops outside the airport terminal twice an hour ~1020-2215. The route is from Gruda to Cavtat and return with stops at Radovčići. Cost is HRK 8 and you buy a ticket beforehand at a newsagent, or a little more if bought on board.
Bus#38 runs from Dubrovnik to Gruda along the road outside the airport.

By Shuttle Van: cityhoppa.com runs shuttle vans and private cars from this airport to Dubrovnik city center. Click here to make a reservation.
By Boat: A novel way of getting to the airport from the city is to take a small boat from the Old Town quay to Cavtat. They run every 30-60 mins, cost HRK 50 and take 30-45 mins. Then take a taxi the last 10 mins to the airport.

By Bus:
The bus situation in Split can be quite confusing. The long distance inter-city buses run from the bus station between the ferry terminal and the railway station. It is about a 10 min walk from the city centre, heading SE. The local bus station (for bus #37 to the airport & Trogir runs from the local bus station on Ulica Domovinskog Rata, about 10-15 mins walk N of the centre. To make matters more confusing, the Croatia Airlines bus runs to yet another stop, closer to the city centre. It is at Obala Lazareta, and is on the sea front, at the start of the road towards the ferry terminal.
Croatia Airlines Bus to Split: Runs from right outside the terminal to Obala Lazareta (see above). It departs shortly after flight arrivals and takes 30-40 mins. There are no stops en-route. Cost HRK 30. Children under 6 free. Buses depart the city 90 mins before the departures of Scheduled Croatia Airlines flights. However, I arrived on another airline and a bus still met that flight. For further info contact (+385-21) 203-305, 203-338 or 203-119. The problem with using this service to get TO the airport is that unless you are flying with Croatia Airlines, you have no way of knowing when the buses leave. It is possible buses run in accordance with other airlines' flights.
Local Bus #37
to Split:
Local bus #37 goes to Trogir Bus Station in one direction and to the local bus station (on Domovinskog, see above) and Split in the other. There are many stops along the way including the Ancient Roman Amphitheatre at Salona. The airport bus stop for this service is not outside the terminal. Cross the car park outside and head for the main road (about 200m). For Trogir use the stop on that side and for Split cross over.
Route: Trogir Bus Station - Airport - Kastela - Solin (Salona) - Split Local Bus Station. Cost: To Trogir HRK 12 & to Split HRK 22. Travel Times: To Trogir 10 mins. To Split 40-50 mins.
Timings from the Airport: Buses depart the airport for Split at: Mon-Fri: 0410, 0450, then every 20 mins until 1710, 1740, 1810, 1840, 1910, 2000, 2020, 2040, 2100, 2120, 2140, 2210, 2240, 2315 & 2340. Weekends: 0410, 0500, 0540 then every 30 mins to 2240, 2315 & 2340. Buses depart the airport for Trogir every 20-30 mins 0450-midnight.
Timings to the Airport: Buses depart Split heading towards the airport & Trogir Mon-Fri: 0400, 0430, 0510, 0530 and then every 20 mins until 1530 then every 30 mins until 1830, 1850, 1910, 1930, 1950, 2010, 2030, 2100, 2130, 2205, 2230 & 2330. Weekends: Every 30 nmins 0400-2130, 2205, 2230 & 2330. Buses depart Trogir Bus Station for the Airport & Split local bus station at Mon-Fri: 0400, 0450, 0530, 0600 then every 20 mins until 1700 then every 30 mins until 1930, 1950, 2010, 2030, 2050, 2110, 2130, 2200, 2230, 2305 & 2330. Steve's Tip:
For the extra HRK 11, it is definitely worthwhile taking the Croatia Airlines Bus, especially since it takes you right to the city centre waterfront. However the local bus runs regularly throughout the day.
