Girona/Gerona - Costa Brava (GRO):
Location: 12 km/7 miles SW of Gerona, 76 km/48 miles NE of Barcelona & 24 km/15 Miles NNW of Lloret de Mar.
Airport Overview: One terminal (divided into departures and arrival
sides) with car parking opposite and a bus
stop outside.
By Road:
About 1 hour to Barcelona on good roads.
By Taxi: Taxis wait outside the arrivals side of the building. To Girona ~€20, Platja D'Aro €45, Lloret de Mar €45/30

General: |
There are 2 buses from the airport, one to central Barcelona (now stops
in Estaciò del Nord, beside Arc de Triomf) and one to Gerona/Girona bus
station (behind the train station). There are also 3 Ryanair buses that
serve the Costa Brava beach resorts. Both these bus companies have
information desks in arrivals near the car rental offices. |

Barcelona Bus
to Girona

Route: Runs from the bus stop outside arrivals (exit and turn left)
to Girona bus station (behind the train station). |

Timings: Buses leave the airport daily every hour 0430-0030. Buses
leave the bus station in Gerona (stand 7) daily every hour 0400-0000.

Takes 29 mins. |

Barcelona Bus
to Barcelona: |
Route: Runs from the bus stop outside arrivals (exit and turn left)
to central Barcelona (now stops in Estaciò del Nord, beside Arc de

Timings: Buses run according to flights. Buses leave
the airport from 0830 to 0015 in accordance with the latest flight
schedules.

daily at 0600, 0900, 1400 & 1800. Buses leave S'Agaro 5 minutes
after that, and from Sant Feliu de Guixols a further 10 mins later.

hour, Sant Antoni 70 mins & Palamos 1 hour 15. |

Location: 4 km/2
Miles ESE of Reus, 9 km/6 miles WNW of Tarragona & 90 km/56 miles WSW of
Barcelona.
Airport Overview: 2 terminals, one for departures and one for
arrivals, situated a short walk apart.
By Road: To Tarragona 13 km/8 Miles. To Barcelona ~70 mins &
Sitges ~40 mins.
By Taxi: Taxis stop outside both terminals. To
Reus train station ~€16/30 mins,
Tarragona ~€22. There is a taxi desk in the arrivals building. Call +34

Note: On my visit
in January 2007, I was unable to locate the correct bus stop at Maria
Cristina. There are 2 or 3 bus stops outside Corte Ingles, but none had
any information regarding this bus. Notes from a Traveller Jun 2008: Apparently the bus was around the corner from Sants Station, but
I did find it.
It was on a Saturday, and there was one bus at about 1015, and then not another one until about
1630.
The only problem I had was the timetable provided by La Hispano Igualadina was not clear, and the times did not match the actual times of the buses. I tried to phone them to check the timetable several times on all the numbers they gave, but could never get through, and was just held in a queue "all of our operators are busy" - in Spanish. I held on for quite a long time each time, and never got through. |

Notes from a Traveller September 2009:
The parking charges introduced are very reasonable for short stays, but long term charges are €8.90 per day for the first day and from day 5 reduced to
€7.10. ie stay of over 5 days you can calculate on paying a parking fee of €8 per day . . . very expensive and there seems to be no alternative to long term parking as yet!
