By Bus: Buses are
sometimes avaiable at the airport, otherwise a 500m walk to the junction gets
you to a bus stop where the fare to town is ~BDT 5.

Regular Taxis charge about BDT 400
from the airport to the city and a little less the other way round. Takes 30
mins or more. There
is a pre-paid taxi booth in the arrivals meeting area. If not using this
service, then fares should always be
agreed upon before travelling. In any
case, drivers are required by law to have an operating meter. |

Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation (BPC): |
A government organization, has a fleet of
air-conditioned and non air-conditioned cars, microbuses and jeeps and
offer transfer service for tourists between Dhaka airport and main city
points or hotels. |
By
Autorickshaw: Although Autorickshaws are not permitted
at the airport, they will drop you on the Airport Road close by, and they can be
picked up there too for the trip to the city. Fares should be BDT 70-100,
but expect much arguing. Drivers are required to have a functioning meter, and
police take a dim view of drivers who break this rule.
By
Bus: Walk to the main road, which is 5 mins on
foot from the terminal. The fare is BDT 5, but buses become hard to find after
2000 and are always very crowded and hot. Buses going to the airport go from
Gulistan Bus station, NW of the city centre,and cost ~BDT 5.
There
is also a transfer bus for Sheraton Hotel guests in the arrivals meeting area.
Airport Departure Tax: BDT 300, but nearly always included in the ticket
price now.
