Denpasar/Bali - Ngurah Rai (DPS):
Location:
8 Miles/12 km SW of Denpasar & a short walk from Kuta Beach.
Airport Overview: Currently the airport is undergoing major expansion, and much construction work is in progress. This may result in long distances to walk to taxi stands etc.

By Taxi:
Airport Taxi Service: Airport taxis in Indonesia tend to be on the pre-paid voucher system. The official taxi counter can be found to the right of the International arrivals exit. It's to the left of Domestic arrivals. The blue taxis belonging to Bali Taxi have meters but they aren't supposed to pick up at the arrivals exits. They can be found in the drop-off area near the domestic terminal. Prices are fixed, whereas other taxi drivers tend to haggle (you are likely to be approached by numerous private drivers on arrival). Prices for the airport taxis are displayed outside the terminal buildings and give a rough idea of how much to expect to pay for a taxi hailed on the street. Max 3 per cab.
Approximate Pre-paid Fares: To Denpasar IDR 90 000/25 mins. Batubulan IDR 105 000, Bukit IDR 95-135 000, Candidasa IDR 335 000, Canggu IDR 135 000, Dyana Pura/Abimanyu IDR 65 000, Jimbaran IDR 60 000 (Intercontinental Hotel) - 75 000 (4 Seasons Hotel), Kuta Beach 45-50 000/10 mins, Legian IDR 55 000, Nusa Dua 95 000/20 mins, Nusa Dua Nikko Hotel IDR 110 000, Oberoi/Kerobokan IDR 70 000, Padang Bai IDR 315 000, Sanur Beach 95 000/25-45 mins, Seminyak IDR 60 000, Tanah Lot IDR 190 000, Tanjung Benoa IDR 105 000, Ubud IDR 195 000/45 mins & Umalas IDR 85 000. For latest prices see here.
Notes: Traffic between the airport and Kuta can be terrible at peak hours so leave plenty of time, as most trips to and from the airport will use this stretch of road. To get lower taxi fares, it is possible to cross the car park and hail a passing cab on the main road.

By Bus: There are now virtually no public buses left that serve the airport. There are Perama Shuttle Buses to Bali Airport but they only operate twice a day, so are more of use in getting to the airport than in getting from the airport. The fare from Ubud to the airport is IDR 50,000, leaving Ubud at 0830 and 1800 only. These buses do not go to Denpasar but pick up at both Kuta and Sanur.
