Atlanta - Hartsfield-Jackson Intl (ATL):
Location
16 km/10 Miles S of Downtown Atlanta.


Airline Locations:
General: There is one terminal (divided into North and Sourth sides) and one security post. There are baggage claim areas in the North and South sides. All ground transport(ation) options are at either the North or South sides. Concourses are only for aircraft parking purposes. Concourses are linked together and to the baggage reclaim areas and security by an underground train. Terminal Layout.
Terminal South Airlines: Sky Team Airlines: Delta, Air France, Alaska Airlines & Aeromexico.
Terminal North Airlines: All Other Airlines: Air Canada, Air Tran, American, British Airways, Continental, Frontier, Georgia Skies, Korean Air, Lufthansa, Midwest, Spirit, US Airways & Vision.
Concourse T: for American, Delta & United flights.
Concourse A: is a Delta concourse.
Concourse B: for Delta flights.
Concourse C: for Delta Connection plus AirTran and Frontier Airlines flights.
Concourse D: for most domestic flights (except American & United).
Concourse E: is the Intl concourse - all flights depart/arrive here.

By Taxi:
General: Readily available. There is a Taxi Starter Center (Dispatcher) at the west end of the main terminal between the North and South sides. Taxis wait at the Ground Transportation Center (Island A). Fares are posted here.
Meter Rates: $2.50 for the first eighth of a mile then $0.25 for each extra eighth of a mile. Waiting time $21 per hour. Airport Passenger Surcharge of $1.50 per vehicle trip.
Approximate Costs (Set fares): A set fee is in effect between the airport and the central business district. For one passenger: To Downtown $30/20-30 mins, To Midtown, $32/30 mins, To Buckhead $40/35-45 mins. For each extra passenger, add $2.

By Bus:
General: There are no local buses at Atlanta Airport, only the Greyhound buses described below.
Greyhound Buses: The Greyhound Bus stop and office are on the basement level of the North side terminal. Follow signs. The office is open Mon-Fri only 0800-1330.
Route: Downtown Atlanta - Airport - Columbus, GA - Macon, GA - Savannah, GA. Also buses to Montgomery, AL & Tuskegee, AL. Timings: Buses leave the airport heading for Atlanta daily at 0540, 0700, 1155, 1445, 1905 & 2230. Contact: Tel 1 800 231 2222.

By Shuttle Van:
General: As you come up the escalator after coming off the train from your concourse, you will see a desk in front of you (and slightly to the right) for Airport Shuttles. Shuttles wait at the Ground Transportation Center (Island C).

By Train:
MARTA Train all over the Atlanta area: Metro Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) run train to points all over the metro Atlanta area (Fulton and Dekalb counties) with scheduled service to and from the airport. The MARTA station entrance is at the west end of the terminal, near other ground transportation services, and easily accessed from both North and South sides. Follow the signs.
System Map. Route: The Airport forms the end of both the Red and Gold Lines, which run North in parallel until Midtown. However, after 9pm (2100), the Red Line only runs between Lindbergh Center & North Springs and does not serve the Airport. Red Line: Airport - College Park - East Point - Lakewood/Ft McPherson - Oakland City - West End - Garnett - Five Points (Downtown Atlanta and transfer to the Blue & Green Lines) - Peachtree Center - Civic Center - North Avenue - Midtown - Arts Center - Lindbergh Center - Lenox - Brookhaven/Oglethorpe - Chamblee - Doraville. Gold Line: Airport - College Park - East Point - Lakewood/Ft McPherson - Oakland City - West End - Garnett - Five Points (Downtown Atlanta and transfer to the Blue & Green Lines) - Peachtree Center - Civic Center - North Avenue - Midtown - Arts Center - Lindbergh Center - Buckhead - Medical Center - Dunwoody - Sandy Springs - North Springs.
Timings: Trains arrive and depart from the airport every 8 mins. In 18 mins, a traveller can be downtown, where connections are available to other parts of the city. Trains leave the Airport Mon-Fri 0445-0100 & Weekends & Holidays 0440-0100. Trains leave Peachtree Center (downtown Atlanta) heading towards the airport Mon-Fri 0509-0147 & Weekends & Holidays 0458-0138.
Travel Time: To Five Points 18 mins, Peachtree Center 19 mins, Midtown 22 mins,  Cost: $2 per trip cash. 1 day pass $8. Payment can be made with a Breeze Card, a stored value card. Contact: Tel (404) 848 4711.

Airport to Airport: MARTA train runs to Chamblee station near DeKalb Peachtree Airport (Short walk).

Rental Cars:
On-Airport Rental car Providers: ADVANTAGE, Airport-Rent-a-Car (404) 209 1222, ALAMO/National, AVIS, Budget, iTravel, Dollar/Thrifty, Enterprise, E-Z Rent A Car, HERTZ & PAYLESS are at the airport in the separate Rental Car Center. This is reached by a dedicated train. Journey time 5 mins. The train routes: Terminal - GICC (Conference Center) - Rental Car Center. The train is located at the west end of the main terminal between the North and South sides. Follow the signs. Trains run every 2-3 mins 0500-0100. Outside these times, there is a button to call a train.

Car Parking:
General: Opposite each side of the terminal (North & South) is a large car parking garage.
Hourly Parking: 0-1 hour $1, 1-2 hrs $2, 2-3 hrs $4, 3-4 hrs $6, 4-5 hrs $8, 5-6 hrs $10 & 6-24 hrs $28. $28 minimum at the beginning of each 24 hour period.
Daily Parking: 0-1 hour $2, 1-2 hrs $4, 2-3 hrs $6, 3-4 hrs $8, 4-5 hrs $10, 5-6 hrs $12 & 6-24 hrs $14. Each extra 24 hour period $14.
Economy Parking: 0-1 hour $2, 1-2 hrs $4, 2-3 hrs $6, 3-4 hrs $8, 4-24 hrs $10. Each extra 24 hour period $10.

Baggage Storage: Left Luggage facilities are available in the South Baggage claim area. Cost: Small bage $6 per 24 hrs, medium $7, large $8. Opening Hours: Daily 0700-2100.
Money Services:
ATMs/Cash Machines in the baggage claim areas and at the Car Rental Center.
Notes:
Baggage Carts available for rent at $4 each. There are hotel booking boards with freephones in each baggage claim area. There is a tourist information desk
in front of you (and slightly to the right), as you come up the escalator after coming off the train from your concourse. There is a US Post Office in the South side baggage claim.
Airport Hotels: Springhill Suites is at the GICC (reached by the Rental Car Center train). Marriott Atlanta Airport is due to open Summer 2010 at the GICC (reached by the Rental Car Shuttle).
